What’s not to like! The farm is only a few miles outside Edinburgh. It’s a perfect base to explore the city out of. The room is comfortable, and the bed is lush! The farm is unique in that the hotel rooms are as comfortable as a hotel room, while being a B and B, while also being a functioning farm!
The breakfast provided is scrumptious, and completely filling. In addition to juice, milk, and a range of cornflakes, you get the choice of informing Ailsa and the lovely team what you’d like for breakfast (from their set list).
The farm is also a wonderful space. They had prizewinning Clydesdale horses, and 3 curious alpacas! Even the chickens were friendly.

Terrific location with wonderful views of Tweedsmuir Hills from dining room and many bedrooms (including mine when no van outside window). Good sized swimming-pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff, good service in dining room. One 'quiet' bar, one with live music (Saturday) and a lively vibe. Was there with a large family party, and lots of flexibility in arrangements for that. A great stay overall.

Though a seemingly old hotel the decor was charming, the staff were friendly & efficient giving us a lovely welcome. Our room was lovely, clean & big at the top front of the building, panoramic windows! Good power shower & great location. Food was hearty & enjoyable. It was so peaceful, in the woods, lodge was cosy and everything you needed. The owners could not possibly offer you anything more! It was a wonderful stay but tooooo short, our puppy had a ball; 4 star!

Just a post of thanking David and Louisa for a warm welcome, recommendations and a breakfast to die for! The house and views of the countryside are better than pictures can tell. Lots of things to do around, hillwalking, foraging, very short drive to many other interesting places or towns.
The setting of the pods is outstanding. Surrounded by beautiful nature and very quiet. And yet there are many places of interest nearby, including Edinburgh. The pod was well equipped and easy to use. It makes a welcome change from sleeping in standard hotel bedrooms. Quite an adventure!
