Whitby surpassed my expectations, the people seemed friendly even to visitors, there was so many shops and lots of them small independent businesses with quirky and unique products not stupidly priced.
Had an amazing Thai dinner at a restaurant just inside the train station - don’t be put off by the looks on the outside.
Would visit again

This apartment is in the old quaint part of Whitby with all its little yards it doesn't look to have changed much over the years it's still an old-fashioned fishing port, but with lovely restaurants and pubs. It is my absolute favorite place on the North coast.

Lovely seaside town with a huge amount of history, culture and architecture. Please visit the James Cook statue and read up on the history of this amazing explorer and his influence.
The hotel Resolution was fabulous with a great breakfast and highly recommended.
Visit the Whitby Brewery at the top of the 199 steps and next the Abbey. Great selection of drinks and some excellent gift boxes.

Whitby is our favourite place and we visit at least 5 times a year. This was our first time at New Year and we would definitely go again. Sherlock lodgings was clean, perfect location, friendly staff, gorgeous breakfast, cannot fault anything at all.
We had not booked for an evening meal on NYE but we managed to get a table at the Thai in the Train Station, it was delicious.
Parking was easy and nowhere was too busy.

We love visiting Whitby with our two dogs.
We love visiting Whitby with our two dogs. Plenty of walks, would recommend walking to Robin Hoods Bay - we then catch the bus back. Lots of dog friendly pubs, shops etc, and lots of choice for food whether you are looking for restaurants or takeaways.

Charming.
Charming. Busy but everyone happy to be there and ok if needing to queue for something.
Fantastic fish and chips, wonderful cake shops, and takeaways all seem to deliver.
Abbey is impressive and should be visited. The Dracula story is covered well with exhibits.
Whitby Town FC if you want to watch live sport. Stand is good but can be chilly!
Whitby is somewhere you enjoy on the first visit and hope to return to sometime.
One of my favourite places - wished that I lived nearer!
The location of this hotel is fantastic as it is a few yards from the harbour of Whitby.
The staff are efficient, smiling and very helpful.
It was a very comfy room, well equipped and clean with a great bed that was very comfortable to sleep on.
The view from our room -309- was great too, over looking the harbour and up to the abbey.
The breakfast was good quality and enough choice for most people. Special requests I made on the cooking of my breakfast was accommodated. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We have travelled to Whitby many times, and we are often in Whitby at least twice a year. The majority of our stays have been at The Royal. It's central for everywhere ! Rooms are clean and comfortable, we paid extra for a sea-view and weren't disappointed. Spare pillows in the wardrobe, which we found useful. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, and being buffet style, you can go back for more. Yes, the hotel could do with a face-lift, but adequate for the amount of time we were in it.
Traditional Seaside Hotel. Good location in the West Cliff area of Whitby. Room/Bathroom was clean, spacious and did have a sea view although the hotel is a little way from the sea front. The local area was very quiet in the evening during our stay. Hosts were both really pleasant and the freshly cooked to order breakfast was excellent. Although we didn't move the car very much the parking permit was very useful as spaces can be difficult to find in your chosen area.
Very friendly hosts
Beautifully decorated spotlessly clean B&B with extra special little touches eg fresh milk for tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms, mini bar with lagers, prosecco & pop, and the comfiest bed.
Fabulous choice at breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts & cereals as well as a choice of hot freshly cooked breakfast.
Free parking
Ideally located for Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Staithes & Scarborough
Will definitely visit again, highly recommended
Thé hôtel is beautiful and with fabulous local walks within the Raithwaite estate. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, professional, kind, and willing to help whenever needed. The is set within beautiful gardens, and is within easy walking distance of Sandsend, and about a 40 min lovely walk to Whitby. We loved the spa and pool, and our room with a balcony was superb. The food and drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality and standard reflects the price.
Very warm welcome when I arrived and helpful advice about local amenities. The room was very clean and comfortable. I didn't have dinner but breakfast was excellent and the serving staff were also first rate. The hotel is about ten minutes downhill walk from the centre of Whitby and just a couple of minutes from the West Cliff area. Parking was available but I parked on the street as I arrived late enough and left early enough to make this possible.
The property was in a perfect location in Whitby, very quiet.
There was parking right outside the door.
The rooms were all very spacious and comfortable.
The kitchen was like a home to home.
Linen was fresh and spotless.
Ease of check-in check-out was fantastic.
Couldn't use the back exit due to it being co-owned with the neighbours.
Will definitely book again through this company. Host and stay.
Excellent location in a back street of Whitby just 20 seconds to the harbour front. Despite being so close to the harbour front, it was very quiet at the property for the most part. I was pleased with the value for money considering my stay was during a bank holiday weekend with excellent weather. Though a small property, there was enough space for 4 adults. Free parking permits were provided.
We found the hotel beautiful.
Our room was excellent, spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom was also of a high standard, TV above the bath and the spa bath was a welcome bonus after our walking.
The staff were always help and polite, nothing to much trouble for them.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, cooked very well and beautifully presented.
Would stay again.
We love that the hotel & pub are next door to each other love the walk into whitby all downhill bus or taxi back great car park never have to worry about finding a space & breakfast is great served in the lovely penny hedge pub.the staff are the best so friendly helpfull & really seem to love their job
Lovely friendly hotel right in the heart of Whitby lovely view over the harbour good breakfast and an excellent menu for food throughout the day excellent service the room was a good size and the bed was really comfortable and the staff were so friendly we loved it. would definitely recommend
Beautifully decorated spacious rooms. Lovely and clean bedroom and bathroom facilities. Super friendly staff who were very helpful with information and guidance regarding the best restaurants and sights in Whitby. Super delicious breakfast... highly recommended. We will be back again.
The accommodation was excellent, very clean and stylish, love the 4 floors, kitchen was very modern with everything you needed, bedrooms were all very spacious and well thought out, as was the 2 bathrooms.
The location was spot on, only a 5 minute walk down to the harbour.
This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
Lovely little hotel in an ideal location- walking distance of Whitby harbour. We parked on the road outside and were given a scratch card to ensure free parking throughout our stay as the hotel car park was full.
Helpful and friendly staff that are very welcoming!
Staff was great and my room was clean happy with my stay love Whitby hotel is abit dated needs a good painting up when the season as ended but great views so I was happy
Stepping into luxury in beautiful location, close to the sea. Staff very welcoming and not at all stuffy. Lovely views from swimming pool and Spa an added bonus
