Our apartment was so nice, clean we had room on each story which created privacy for everyone. Location is great, literally straight in the centre! My daughter didn’t want to leave. The breakfast was really nice and all stuff were lovely.

Visiting daughter at the university. Always love visiting Winchester. Found some wonderful walks this time along the river and also a good walk up Saint Catherine's Hill with views all across Winchester and further afield. Wonderful pubs and vibrant atmosphere.

We have grown to love Hampshire so much as the people there...
We have grown to love Hampshire so much as the people there seem the most lovely wherever we go. We went to the Jane Austin House and I said this to a lovely man who was one of the curators and he said 'that is Hampshire people and that is why we moved here'. Winchester itself is beautiful not just the Cathedral or Great Hall or the Mill but spending an hour or so sitting outside one of the many establishments watching the world (and their dogs - we've never been anywhere where there were so many dogs and we argued which we should get). We both work hard but upon arrival we just completely relaxed. Other recommendations the Bangkok Bistrot restaurant in Jewry Street (we also saw the Grayson Perry Exhibit in the same Road), the Sunday morning antiques and retro and other market - I bought two wonderful things I will cherish, but above all the happiness everyone exuded, we will be back. This trip was short but there is so much to see (and also so many of my favourite shops, more than actually accessible in where I live in Kensington but in Winchester all in the high street - the White Company, Hobbs x 20!)
As you can tell we fell in love with Winchester!!

Winchester is a delightful place to visit.
Winchester is a delightful place to visit. It blends the old with the new extremely well. The cathedral has to be seen inside. A guided tour is available which is essential to appreciate fully the cathedral's remarkable history.
Further attractions are the wide range of excellent restaurants and pubs, museums and historic buildings.

Lovely historical sites and museums.
Lovely historical sites and museums. A walk along the trail was refreshing and seeing Winchester from Saint Catherine's Hill and lunch at the Handle Bar cafe at Saint Catherine's Hill was good value for money, lovely fresh panini's and friendly staff, not to mention the cake.
Plenty of eateries on an evening and quaint streets.

Winchester is a charming city which needs you to fully explore. As well as the Cathedral and Great Hall, you should walk right to the end of the High Street as see what is down each street- particularly at the top of the town. There is a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. We had a Nepalese meal at Marse which was great with "ancient grains".
The Tourist Information Centre were fantastically helpful. Do walk the Water Meadows on the other side of the Cathedral and visit St Cross- following the river and in the spirit of John Keats. Finally, walk around the ruins of Wolvesey Castle.
This is a great hotel for easy access into Winchester, the rooms have everything you need, excellent bed and bedding, shower is amazing with good pressure. Complimentary tea, pod coffee machine coffee, biscuits an hot chocolate. The only thing I wonder is why the bathrooms do not close from the outside. Staff are friendly and professional and nothing is to much trouble. When my dog stays with me here they will provide, dog bed, bowls, treats and even a ball!
Excellent hotel that I highly recommend.
I wanted a cheap and cheerful room for the night and didn't want to pay Winchester prices. This room was perfect for what I needed.
Quiet location, easy to get too, lots of parking and a good breakfast.
I had a lovely stress free night and was able to enjoy a day in the nearby city without worry.
The pub downstairs was quiet and the room had plenty of drinks and snack available. Can't fault the hotel.
Location- a very short walk from the High Street and close to main attractions. Clean and comfy bed; clean room/bathroom, tea/coffee facilities, drinking water in the room. The capsule coffee maker was a great addition.
I have stayed in this hotel previously and definitely will stay again if I visit Winchester again.
And, definitely, good value for money considering location.
The room was a nice size. I had a bathroom with a bathtub, which is often not the case. About a 10 min walk from the train station, with a bit of uphill when returning to the station, but all straightforward. My room was quiet. Checkin was quick and easy and it was a 5 min walk to the Main Street and good restaurant options. I did not try the hotel’s restaurant.
Great location in central Winchester, with lovely view of cathedral from parts of the hotel. Staff very helpful and welcoming, good sized room with excellent selection of breakfast options. We had a lovely overnight stay to visit the Xmas market nearby. We also got parking nearby via the hotel, there was a charge but that is reasonable and expected.
When I booked this I was told it was on the M3 at Winchester. When I got there I found it was nearer to Basingstoke . It’s a ridiculous scenario to have to drive so far out of the way north bound and then all the way back southbound to get to the hotel. The taxi from fair oak was £58. I was shocked beyond belief!
Large, comfortable complete apartment! Two stories: bedroom and bathroom upstairs, great room including kitchen and living room/dining room downstairs. Everything is provided, including clothes washer and detergent! I couldn’t find the shampoo however. A few blocks from the bus stop going into Winchester.
Great location only 3 mins walk from the bottom of Winchester High Street. Pretty place overlooking the River Itchen with ducks floating by. Has a parking space, albeit narrow, under the property. Both rooms had comfortable, double beds. Nicely appointed flat.
The location was perfect to explore Winchester on foot. Staff really friendly and happy to give information on the town and sights to see plus recommendations on food and drink. The room itself was clean, modern and bathroom was a good size.
Ideally located for the centre of Winchester and for our specific needs on this occasion.
Really atmospheric location and what one would expect from a typical public house providing accommodation as well.
The hotel was conveniently placed for a visit to winchester as its easily walkable. The hotel rooms are a good size though there is no lift as its only 2 floors
