The older parts of the village are really pretty and there are plenty of quiet country walks. Scarborough is a short drive away, as is Pickering, with many attracticve villages all around. Also a short drive away is North Moor with forest walks, wildlife and views.

Lovely little village location.
Lovely little village location. Well signposted walk around the area which we all enjoyed. Popped into the gun shop Davey and Sons and the 2 blokes in there were really friendly and helpful. It's so close to so many places! Torn for choice the next day on what to do, could definitely have done a good few days up here :) we ate at the downs hotel pub just down the road from where we stayed - The Old Orchard Cottage - which served locally sourced fish which is always nice to see! Out stay at the old orchard cottage was absolutely perfect, highly recommend checking that place out, the pictures don't even do it justice it's the nicest place!NaomiUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

It was a great base to explore the area of Scarborough Whitby, Filey and Robin Hoods Bay. Pickering and North Yorkshire were close by too. The hotel served a good breakfast. Paid extra for a luxury room, but not really worth it.SueUnited Kingdom
