The wonderful friendly staff, for a solo traveller this is so important. The hotel runs on a small staff but everyone of them made me feel welcome and went beyond to give me advice and suggestions.

Great location for visiting the area - mid point between Pickering and Scarborough - with lots of things to do and places to see. Wykeham itself is a small village but on the main road so easy to get to where you want making touring the area easy.

The older parts of the village are really pretty and there...
The older parts of the village are really pretty and there are plenty of quiet country walks. Scarborough is a short drive away, as is Pickering, with many attracticve villages all around. Also a short drive away is North Moor with forest walks, wildlife and views.

Lovely little village location.
Lovely little village location. Well signposted walk around the area which we all enjoyed. Popped into the gun shop Davey and Sons and the 2 blokes in there were really friendly and helpful. It's so close to so many places! Torn for choice the next day on what to do, could definitely have done a good few days up here :) we ate at the downs hotel pub just down the road from where we stayed - The Old Orchard Cottage - which served locally sourced fish which is always nice to see! Out stay at the old orchard cottage was absolutely perfect, highly recommend checking that place out, the pictures don't even do it justice it's the nicest place!

It was a great base to explore the area of Scarborough...
It was a great base to explore the area of Scarborough Whitby, Filey and Robin Hoods Bay. Pickering and North Yorkshire were close by too. The hotel served a good breakfast. Paid extra for a luxury room, but not really worth it.
Had one night for my birthday, room was very clean and warm plenty of towels Bed was firm but not too hard.
Had evening meal food was good . hot and tasty Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice cooked fresh.
The hotel was not full but and it was the night of storm isha, so the bar and resturant deserted
Must add that the Staff where all GREAT nothing to much trouble. also got a complmentary Birthday Drink, nice touch would recommend.
Lovely staff room nice food delicious what more could you ask for..
Only gripe dogs allowed in tuckers bar which is fine you are aware of that but when owners are too busy looking at their phones that their dog wanders off and decides to mooch around under your table not nice while your eating but that’s the owners fault not the hotels technology eh……put your phones down and talk to your partners instead it’s called socialising😂😂
lovely quiet location just outside Scarborough, Thornton Le Dale and Pickering! Amazing food, lovely bar and Phil the owner couldn’t have bent over backwards anymore for us! We turned up late with our dog and Phil did everything to accommodate us. We can’t love this place enough.
Lovely looking hotel from the outside and nice superior double room with a comfy four poster bed. Room was probably as expected for the price and it was spacious with good amenities such as the coffee machine, bath robes and toiletries. Reception staff were friendly.
loved this little hotel . The room was lovely and clean. The bed was comfy and it's in a great location to visit Scarbrough and york. The staff was helpful and really nice . Big shout out to the cleaners who were lovely and do a great job of keeping the hotel clean
Location was ideal for us, quiet and secluded, yet within minutes of the main Pickering to Scarborough road. Very spacious and airy rooms. Deer and pheasants all around. Log stove works well. Beautiful rural setting. Some very nice walks nearby.
Lovely looking building and entrance hallway; staff were welcoming and helpful. Rest of hotel and room was lovely, if a little tired in places. Easy to find, plenty of parking, good location for exploring the beautiful area.
We had a fantastic stay the staff and room was really lovely. The hotel was very beautiful inside and out we will come again when the weather is better so hopefully have a good walk around. Great value for money
Staff could not have been more friendly, especially the man on reception and the man serving breakfast. Hotel has lots of character, large car park and easy access to main road.
