The location is good - not in the touristy part of the island. There are a few hotels around, but the nearby town feels very authentic. There are very nice, simple, restaurants there. Walking and the town and eating with the locals just feels real here. You don't feel like a tourist. The way down to the beach is very beautiful. We enjoyed spending the 5 minutes to get to and from the beach. But be warned - it's some pretty steep and winding stairs, so not good for baby strollers or people with disabilities. Otherwise it is not hard, and a very picturesque walk. The beach is very natural and minimalistic, but we liked it very much because of that. No sunbeds, no bars. Just go down there, sit on the warm sand, swim in the beautiful sea, climb on the rocks - enjoy the nature. We visited early in the season, so there were very few people too. Most of the time we had the whole beach to ourselves! Everyone in the staff is very friendly. We stayed only a few nights but can remember all those friendly faces. It feels like you are a real guest there, not just another client to be served. Even the construction workers seemed nice (there was a bit of renovation happening). The owners are personally there, involved in the business. Had a chance to chat with the a little too. Interesting people. Good, real, down-to-earth business. We liked it. Breakfast and dinner are good. The selection is not overwhelming (the kitchen area is not very big), which I see as a big positive, but some people maybe might think it is too little. There are enough different dishes to keep it interesting and at the same time, if you plan it right, you can try almost every dish for each meal. And everything was good, without exception. Oh and the views from the room - the mountains or the sea, really can't go wrong either way, it's beautiful wherever you look. So overall, very positive experience. Recommend, would stay again.

The room we stayed in had everything as expected. Our room had nice views and the hosts were very helpful. It’s a 15min walk to the village where you can find a couple of cafes/restaurants. Tholos Beach was one of the nicest beaches of our stay, so the location is superb, especially if you prefer peace and quiet away from the touristy spots. We really feel like we got an authentic Cretan experience staying here.

We had a small problem with the bedlight and allso asked for an extra cover and this was fixed within minutes. We were also upgraded to a better room. We had booked economy for just one night - but due to some available rooms in the category above we got one with a balcony with seaview. Now that's customer service :-)

Nice room, a little small, but comfortable. Breakfast was very continental but then the guests seem to be mainly from Germany so I can't complain. The food was OK, but then there are so many nice restaurants around it is hard to complete. The staff were all very friendly and the bar on the hotel beach was excellent.

The staff were wonderful and did all they could to improve our stay at this overpriced, below average resort. The beach is also very nice and we liked that there were always sun beds available. We were here to celebrate our honeymoon so were upgraded from a double room to a bungalow and were able to eat at the slightly nicer 5* buffet restaurant. Even here though, most food was only passable with only a few decent options. The local tavernas (within driving distance) served far superior food for a fraction of the cost. Sadly, despite the upgrades, which we were very grateful for, we wouldn’t return and would not recommend this place.

Superbly located in the centre of Lerapetra and a short walk to the beach, Cretan Villa is your ideal base to explore the area. The host is convivial, helpful and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed comfy. Plenty of places nearby for breakfast and to sample Cretan and international cuisine. 5 stars.

Very comfortable room and bed. Good shower. Big room and good location.

The bed was very comfortable. I had all I needed and the refrigerator was top notch. Coral Hotel was near the sea, what I always prefer. Nice staff!
