Loved Megalochori: little beautiful village with its colorful houses, churches and little back alley streets. It was as if I was walking in a big painting or Theatre set. Met many friendly people; visited cozy restaurants and enjoyed tasty meals. Hope to visit many more times in future!

The property is absolutely immaculate!!
The property is absolutely immaculate!! Romantic & Relaxaing!!
Complimentary breakfast was excellent, too!!
Public Transportation not easily accessable - eventhough the bus stop is only a 3 minutes walk. The sidewalk isn't user friendly - very Narrow & lots of outgrown weeds. You can take a bus to Fira from that bus stop - just do it in the morning - at night that area isn't walkable - from Megalochori to Fira is only 1,60 euros. However, from Fira took Uber back to hotel is about 36 Euros! After you arrived Fira bus station, you can take another bus to Oia for another 1,60 euros.
We shouldn't have booked a split level room because there's a steep stairs to climb up to your bed :(

Megalochori is just a small village 5 kms south of the city centre Fira. It is less touristic and will suit people seeking for accommodation that is not so busy and hectic. It has some good restaurants and even a winery that sells fantastic red and rosè wine.

The village is very traditional and much less touristy than the other towns. There is a good selection of restaurants (7/8 maybe) and all of them are lovely, only 1 or 2 serve breakfast though. There are some lovely vineyards in the village too, some cooking classes and horse riding excursions. It's a small village so not huge amounts to do so more of a relaxing base from which to explore the Island. There was a small shop although the opening times were sporadic so we stocked up at the larger supermarkets just out of the village.
We hired a car to get around and there is free parking in the village, the island is very small so it only takes 40 minutes to get to the other side, I think the local busses call through too although we didn't use these.
We went with our 2-year-old who loved the local playground, although there were a lot of cobbles (as with all the villages) which made the buggy difficult.

This town was a great location on the island.
This town was a great location on the island. Not to close to the over touristed towns but easy access to them. The Town has everything you need, good restaurants, wineries and the best bakery in the island.

Megalokhori is a beautiful place and the people are incredibly friendly. I would recommend having a car as the mini-markets are over-priced and have a very limited supply of fresh food. There are only a few restaurants, a couple of which are over-priced, so a car would take you to the beach restaurants once you've exhausted the reasonable restaurants in the square. Very, very pretty though.
The beautiful hotel is situated on a cliff with a great sunset view. If you want to go the centre of Megalochori it is a few minutes away. The staff was like family, smiling at every chance and helping with arranging the multiple choices of Santorini. We tried several things from their restaurant menu and we liked it all! Their cocktail selection is wide and very tasty! The cliff table is the most romantic thing you can come up with for a special & private sunset dinner. The cave pool is very cool!
Huge rooms, and great space. The location is beautiful in the center of Santorini and beautiful village of megalachori. The host Adriana was unbelievable, super responsive and helpful. Her brother Lambros was also very helpful during our check in and gave us fantastic recommendations to do in the city. There amazing cafes around the hotel and one of the best sunsets in santorini 5 mins away called the heart of santorini
We stayed for one night after flying to Santorini, before we took the ferry to another island. The staff were really helpful and friendly, especially Victoria on reception. The hotel is nice but a little remote if you were staying for longer (unless you had a car), but for one night it was perfect - we walked down to the local taverna for our first authentic Greek meal of the holiday which was delicious.
This boutique hotel is located at the caldera side where at this time of the year the sunset was beautiful. Location is also less touristic and very guiet but very romantic for couples. The staff especially the manager Ms. Chris was very helpful and gave us lots of tips about the surroundings. Overall our stay at Grand view hotel was fantastic.
The view was absolutely outstanding, the best place for a Santorinian sunset! George our host was delightful and always greeted us with a smile. He was very helpful with anything we needed (dinner recommendations, transport etc.). The breakfast every morning was very yummy and satisfying. Very central to everything, will most likely need a car!
The property is out of this world! the rooms are well designed and the furniture adds to the experience. the view is magnificent, one of the best views in Santorini!
the location is fantastic exclusive and calm far from touristic crowd. food is really good and the pool is super nice to chill during the day or to see the sunset.
the view is incredible. the facilities are just what you need to be comfortable and relaxed. Marco and the staff were friendly and went out of there way to help me in a really tight spot! made my stay on Santorini a really enjoyable one. it’s also very very peaceful. which it can be hard to find in august.
The Villa is an architectural gem, inside and out. Everything from decoration, landscaping to linens is 1st class all the way. The property overlooks the most beautiful view of the caldera and the sunsets are incredible. I highly recommend this property to make your trip to Santorini one to remember!
Great breakfast. We were able to taste the greek flavors. Loved the olives and cheese. The hotel had amazing views. The room vas very spacious and comfortable. Loved the big windows on the second floor. Enjoyed that the room had a balcony and view to the pool. Very quiet room. Great value for the money.
The peacefulness of the place with exceptional views of the islands! The place sits on top of a cliff with an uninterrupted view of the ocean and the sunset along with a nice, comfy room to stay in. Dimitrios is a wonderful host, and we would go back to the same place if we ever travel to Santorini!
The apartment was perfectly situated and had great view.We loved staying here!!! It has a wonderful host and helped us with everything. Our time in Santorini was wonderful and stress-free thank to our stay here and our host's attentiveness. I would recommend this place to everyone!!
Amazing views! Super friendly and helpful staff with lots of recommendation. Wonderful breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Perfect location for being close to a lot but felt quiet and calm. Walkable to the village of Megalochori and the heart of Santorini.
Lovely place located in a quiet and picturesque village of Megalochori. Perfect place to enjoy the unique architecture of Santorini without crowds.
Our host, Maria, was a great support to us - very friendly, attentive and quickly responding to our requests.
The best hotel we have ever been. We will be back for sure! Staff is amazing and so carring. You should book a cruise and a tour around the Santorini. The food also is so tasty from the restaurant at Alti. Dionisis is the best!!!! Thank you for everything
Great service. The service from Evelyn was exceptional. Great host. I fully recommend this hotel and her recommendations. Don't miss it. Has a pool and conformable villa to enjoy. Next to the hotel its a winery with a breathtaking view...
Location: well placed between the black beaches and Fira. The village Megalochori has a great wine bar and nice restaurants.
Pool: large enough to do laps.
Price: affordable compared to most of Santorini
The 3 bedrooms flat was amazing and very well furnished with a Mediterrenean style. The location in the small village of Megalochory is perfect if you want to escape from the crowded part of Santorini.
I really like how welcoming everyone was, hotel is beautiful, great location and they provide us with all the guidance and amenities possible. Love our stay ❤️
Recommend 100%
The breakfast at raki was delicious but the waiter had no idea that we got a free breakfast with Ducato wine hotel so maybe more communication on their parts.
