The accommodation is new and located near the beach. The private parking was convenient. The host, Yiotha, was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late (~11pm), and they waited for us and gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival, and assisted us to carry our luggage up the stair to the room. Our room was of good size, clean, tidy, modern, quiet and well-facilitated. The bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was excellent, including omelette, fried eggs, a good serve of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit bowl, juice and coffee. We are very satisfied with this accommodation.

The view of the sea and the Rock from our room was exceptional. The room was quiet, with comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and you could hear the sound of the sea. Plenty of parking out front. Wonderful breakfast. This must be the best value for money hotel in or near Monemvasia. Mrs. Pramataris and her family and staff were very welcoming, super efficient, and to top it all they mailed a package with our forgotten jackets to our next hotel in Greece. Amazing hospitality!

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

The castle area is such a beautiful place and provides a serene place to relax. The views and village atmosphere make you forget the pain of walking up all the stairs and undulating paths.
Elofonissis Island with its beautiful beaches is a short drive away so perfect base for a day trip.
The main asset of the property are its location and its staff/owners. Any location within the walls of Monemvasia is memorable and unique. When evaluating the hotel, I am taking in consideration the extremely unique specifics of hospitality business in Monemvasia (explained in the section below). We liked the spirit of the place, the kindness of the staff. The breakfast was good and varied, with many typically Balkan meals and products. Our room had a balcony and a huge bathroom.
The location is perfect. Easily accessible by car and in walking distance from the entrance of the castle (8-10 min). There was free parking - very important! Hotel upgraded us to a deluxe room next to the sea. 🙏We loved the rustic rocky style. Room was clean with comfortable beds and bath amenities. We also loved our terrace - perfect for your morning coffee and chilling. Staff was very helpful and kind. We suggest it for your stay in Monemvasia.
This is a magical hotel! Located in the heart of the Byzantine walled town of Momnenvasia, it offered not only comfortable but exqisitely tasteful modern accomodations in an evocative historical style. Our stay was peaceful, aided by the views of the Aegean and gentle sound of the waves. It included the best hotel breakfast I've ever had in Greece. Lovely and helpful staff. We all hope to return!
Enjoyed the "ambiance" of being in the castle. The cafe area was a nice place to just relax with a coffee or sip of wine and watch the sea. Although it was a long walk from the entrance with baggage (no cars in castle area), it was worth it to be out of the touristy area. Awesome experience.
It’s a unique five star hotel in the Peloponnese that has respected the surroundings and the local architecture. Everything is very professional and clean. The staff is excellent, the food is great and the atmosphere is peaceful. A place I would recommend as a must place to see in Greece.
This is a fantastic family hotel !!! A really hidden place nearby Monemvasia... amazing view, nice pool, possible to swim directly in the sea, exceptional food and the service is great !!!!! Everyone should book this hotel, impossible to find a better place in this area.
Location by the beach (good snorkeling a plus as well as a shower on the beach), walking distance to Monemvasia, very kind lady in charge, nice breakfast with lots to choose from, easy parking next to the hotel, restaurants and bakery nearby, refrigerator in the room.
This property is excellent and the hosts are among the most gracious and responsive we have experienced on our 16 day trip in Greece. the views from the back patio of the sea and mountains are magical. not to be missed .
I loved that it was in the castle, the breakfast was exceptional, the rooms were uniquely designed so beautiful and the view was breathtaking! I would highly recommend this place!
Such a nice new facility with lovely clean and modern rooms and the kindest owners. Easy drive to Monemvasia from the property. You will not regret staying here!
