Everything
The resort is well positioned, with fantastic views and has a luxury feel about it
Special shout out to the owner/ manager Peter who knows all about hospitality. We especially appreciated his extra touches- like the complimentary light meal when we arrived late and the offer of a ( very) late check out on departure- his suggestion- not ours
The staff to a man or woman were delightful- especially on reception, the bar staff and Anastasia- who couldn’t do enough for us

We like this area due to the beach, the local tavernas and the hotels. Kimatogi is our favourite taverna with delicious specials every day and our favourite hotel is Renieries on the top of the hill, with beautiful view and with the family athmosphere.
You can easily go to Chania with the bus which stops many places in Stalos. From this area the tourist buses also can pick you up easily if you want to visit Elafonissi, Balos/Gramvousa,Samaria Gorge but also to the other area of the Island.
Or with going by car it's also easy to get around and it's near to a junction to the Speed way.

Too quiet not enough to do and see.
Too quiet not enough to do and see. Restaurants not typically Greek mainly serving pizza and pasta. Couldn't get coffee before 9.am. There was no bakery. A lot of properties very run down. Very few general retail shops. It was better to catch the bus into Chania

We booked this hotel to be close to Chania but were very pleasantly surprised about what Stalos had to offer. We spent more time there than expected as it had a good selection of restaurants for both lunch and dinner. Lovely beach and a short(but busy) bus ride to Chania. An ideal base.

Stalos is mainly low rise and less heavily developed than further west. The live music at Dionysus taverna was excellent. The breakfast at Evilion bistro is also excellent and very good value.
There is good walking up into the hills through the olive groves. Lake Agia via Pano Stalos and Kirtomades (turn left at the bottom) takes about 1.5 hours though the cafe is closed on a Monday.

We only stayed for one night as we arrived late in Chania and needed a hotel close to the airport. The apartment was really nice and clean and satisfied our needs. Our plane was delayed and the owner was waiting for as to check in late. We could park a car in nearby car park. There was a lovely swimming pool and a garden. Beach only half a minute walk.
I wanted to highlight that the service is really good, haven’t seen people that care that much about their guests like anniko did.
And also say that the rooms contain everything you’ll need if you travel on budget- they have all the kitchen stuff you’ll ever think about.
And the location is very good, a silent place near the beach, a place where you can rent a car or a motorcycle, also has a mini tasty restaurant that is open at night, a supermarket and a buss station with busses that go straight to Chania.
Egli offers simple, tasteful accommodations in a great location at a terrific value. The owners act like hosts, looking out for each of the guests. My room was cool, quiet, and included an efficiency kitchen. I initially wondered if I might have made a mistake booking a room that was not on the beach. It turned out that in exchange for a short walk, I received not only a great value but also a much quieter room.
We have very fond memories of our stay in Crete at Sofoklis Apts. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed, from kitchen appliances to products such as coffee, tea, olive oil, sugar, jam, butter, orange basket, including a delicious welcome treat and a bottle of wine.
The hosts are very nice, helpful and welcoming.
I definitely recommend everyone to visit Sofoklis Apartments!
The host gave us his personal phone and came to greet us at 4am with a smile, he and all the staff were super helpful assisting with everything we needed. The location is excellent, right in front of the beach and you can hear the waves from the room with an awesome view. In the same street you can find many different restaurants, car rental companies, markets, etc.
Everything was fantastic. The room was beautiful and the owners were very friendly and happy to help. We arrived very late and they were very accommodating.
Great location across the road from the beach and a short drive away from Chania. Definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to book again next time we’re in Crete :)
Peter and his team at Cretan Dream Royal were brilliant - our entire experience at the hotel was perfect. Interesting fact: the hotel restaurant is very well known on the island as being one of Crete's best restaurants. I've already recommended Cretan Dream Royal to a few friends who are travelling to the island in late August.
The hotel is located on top of a small hill in Stalos providing a unique view over the Mediterranean sea and Crete. The breakfast is magnificent, a lot of variety from fruits, yogurt, bread, pancakes and else, and one can enjoy a wonderful sea view from the breakfast room! Everyone is very kind and the hotel is lovely!
The location is central in Stalos, very close to the beach and also the restaurants of Agia Marina are within walking distance. The house itself is new, clean, well-functioning, stylish and has everything our group of two families needed. The host is really nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Made us feel like family, very nice and attentive staff
The drinks and food were all delicious. We kept regretting getting going other places with fake reviews that ended up being tourist traps.
They had very hot water for great showers
Free beach chairs
Location - in the town of Stalos, touristy place, lots of shops around and the hotel is basically on the beach.
Beach is mostly sandy however there are some little pebbles in the beginning. Theoutsideof this hotel is very well maintained and pleasant.
Beautiful location right on the beach. Everything you need for a comfortable stay in Crete. We loved sitting on the back patio of an afternoon watching the ocean. Great communication with hosts. If ever we are in Crete again we would definitely return.
We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is clean, with a few restaurants and markets in the area, takes 20min by bus to the closest big city - Chania. The receptionist was also very cool and helpful and recommended us nice tours on the first day.
Was my second time in Anniko, and I would do 3rd time in the next visit to Crete. Owners are very kind and always ready to help, presenting you with delicious home made sweets. Less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and all the amenities.
A very family friendly hotel with a life guard at the pool. It is in a quiet area of Stalos however still within walking distance to restaurants and beach. The reception are so very helpful.
An extraordinary location, a remarkable ingredient of our trip in N-W of Crete. The staff was professional and the host very nice. We had a seaview apartment, the view was breathtaking.
Great location across from the beach in Stalos, large pool, comfortable room and great breakfast. Staff were very helpful and polite. Located on the main bus route to Chania 20 minutes.
The hotel was in the perfect spot, on a perfect beach for a perfect weekend. The beach bar and breakfast on site are wonderful! There are two great restaurants just steps away.
Beautiful holes lovely staff, excellent breakfast 2nd time we stay in this hotel, be of the best hotels in Crete! Great location to everything. Highly recommend!!
Good location next to the beach, bus stop, farmacy, playground, shops and restaurants. Free car parking. The lady from the reception was kind and helpful.
