Gythio is a very pleasant little town with a range of eating places and shops, set on a bay with a small port The Castello Antico is set 5km round the coastline - which means there are no hassles for car parking, Access to the Mani Peninsula and other interesting places in Southern Peleponnese by car is easy - but public transport limited. Magical romantic place to visit every time in your trip near by. Excellent food, history, art! Always a pleasure to stay in Gythio. The upper small streets abd the authentic houses are a landscape to share. Interesting town I expected it to be more picturesque but a good chunk, maybe a third of the town's buildings, are abandoned and derelict which really brings the whole place down. The Olive Yard was perfect!
The Olive Yard was perfect! It was beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast basket was the best we had in Greece! The hotel staff washed, dried and neatly folded our laundry. It was very much appreciated, especially when you're on a road trip around Greece and don't often have access to laundry facilities. The staff were so friendly and I enjoyed meeting and chatting with them. Beautiful local beach which is a short walk from The Olive Yard. Perfection...and I will definitely stay there again.

We loved the beaches that are all around Navagio ..
We loved the beaches that are all around Navagio ..Mavrovouni .. Very fresh fish in reasonnable prices . The hotel lakonis 1972 is getting renovated so the view will be much better than a old building skelete. We will be back soon .Margeli
