A beautiful place with a lot of history, culinary indulgence. The view is fantastic. You can use the hotel shuttle from the parking lot to the hotel; otherwise, the route is approximately 1.5 km long (on foot). The waiters tried hard and were in a good mood despite the occasional big crowd.
Featuring spectacular views of the countryside, Apartman Kaštel is located in Motovun. This apartment can accommodate up to 6 people and offers free WiFi and air conditioning.
Boasting garden views, Casa Rossa Motovun offers accommodation with patio, around 23 km from Aquapark Istralandia. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay....

Really spacious and clean, amazing view of Motovun from the front

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.
A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Great location in old town.
Great location in old town. Wonderful people and amazing views from the walls and restaurants. Wine and truffle country and free samples were almost too much. Lol
Tiny and hilly old stone streets within a walled city oozing with history.
Our host was gracious, laid back and a pleasure to just chat with.
We would highly recommend.

It's a spectacular location on a hilltop with amazing views all-round of mountainous country including vineyards & olive groves. Delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants at the very top, friendly people, tons of charm. Nearby are several vineyards & the local wines are very nice, and affordable. Easy day trips to Pula, Rovinj, Buzet & others.

This was my first time in Istria.
This was my first time in Istria. We checked out Kozlovic winery, we sampled their delicious wine and had a tour. View is spectacular. Had dinner in Motovun, tried gnocchi with truffles, very tasty! Pictures of the amazing views do not do it justice. Will definitely visit again!

Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria.
Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria. I really liked it. The prices at restaurants in general in comparison to offer are a bit limited. However we managed to find something for ourselves at the end. We missed bakeries. We did not find single one so we travelled to Pazin on our way back home and found amazing bakery.
Perhaps tourism board should create a special list with all possible places providing food and menu of same, all in one place saves from walking especially if one has slight walking disabilities.
Everything else is lovely and look forward returning to Istria
Terrific location if you plan to stay overnight in Motovun. Very quaint and rustic feeling apartment.
Restaurant Bristro Bar Montona Gallery was excellent and had a great view across the truffle forest. Service was best I have ever had and food was equally top notch. We ate at Mondo our first evening but liked the Bristo Bar better.
Our host provided easy parking behind the cemetery. Park there first and then walk up the street to the apartment to meet with the host.
I was staying with my partner and a friend. We loved that we could get the apartment, not just two hotel rooms. The host was super nice, communicated with us and told us where to park the car. This apartment is located close to the parking, not on the very top of Motovun, but it has wonderful views from the windows. It is fully equipped, and he even left milk for us in the fridge. The building is old, but the apartment is very comfy. The bathroom felt very warm and homey.
This hotel offers 5 star experience. Amazing. Very polite and nice staff, they offer us transport from parking to hotel for free which was very helpful.
If you want to spend days in Motovun, then Hotel Kaštel should be your choice. Best posible location in this beautiful town, clean and spacious room, nice indoor pool, great breakfast...
This was best hotel on our 2 weeks road trip.
The villa is only a few minutes from Motovun by car. Offers amazing views of Motovun and the country side. The outside living area with pool, terrace, bbq and amazing views are the best part and well worth the price. The villa itself is huge. You can get lost in this place. Host was helpful and tented to our needs. Recommended to anyone looking for a base to stay in the Istria region.
Nice location, cozy hotel, nice breakfast, staff was extremely polite agile and professional. I had complaints that were accepted and remedied quickly, got a wine tour, wine, discount on the next stay, etc. the score would be 9 if the mentioned things did not happen. It would be 3 if they did not intervene.
Relatively new nice hotel, it still has some quirks to sort out.
The hotel and room was quite comfortable, although a bit on the small side. We chose it because we knew the winery, and wanted to explore the region from there. There is a very nice wine tasting and tour around the property, and it's very close to the city of Motovun, and a few other places in case you feel like exploring (by car): Buje, other wineries, etc.
Spacious lovely room in a rural setting. Walkable. Hot tub takes a while to warm up so set it, go for supper, and then dip when you get back. I read some comments about dogs barking and we had a little bit of that but this region is truffle-hunting region; there are more dogs than people so I’m sure they are heard everywhere.
The location was excellent and parking was free. The town is beautiful. Our host was very responsive and gave us excellent recommendations. The apartment was spacious with a large well equipped kitchen. We very much enjoyed our stay in the apartment. We highly recommend it to any travelers.
Motovun! The city is magical!
The terrace and the patio of the apartment is wonderful, wish we could relax on it forever. Highly recommend this place if you love Istra and Motovun. And it is also a great location for someone who is just starting to explore Istra.
Very charming Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Motovun. The host is very helpful, she picked us up in her car so we don't need to climb all the way to the main square. The breakfast is great and the setting on the outside terrace is very charming.
The owner/hostess is very friendly and hospitable. Though I thought to leave early because it was my last day in Croatia, I was a little late. She asked me if I wanted a coffee. Besides the coffee, she gave me homemade cookies, which were delicious.
Landlord Nena is very friendly and approachable. Room and facilities are clean and comfortable. Location is great, Motovun is in the walking distance from the house, about 20 minutes by foot. View from the terrace is amazing. Good value for money.
An excellent location to explore Motovun and the area. Magnificent view. Shuttle service that took us from the parking to the hotel was great - friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with lots of options and imagination - everything was available!
Villa Marie was beautifully situated overlooking the valley below Motovun. We were welcomed with a cool drink and brought to our wonderful room with a balcony. The location couldn’t have been better. Communication was excellent.
Charming and renovated place located in the middle of Motovun old town. We had dinner in the restaurant of the same owner and the quality of food was excellent. Parking was free of charge and nearby.
