I visited the hotel 5 years ago and it was very nice, but a bit old. This renovation exceeded my expectations and really enjoyed every aspect of my stay in the hotel. Food was very delicious, both at breakfast and dinner alike. I've tried a lot of restaurants in Opatija, but hotel kitchen in Adriatic hotel is still one of top 2 places to eat dinner. Cleanliness, facilities, staff, quality of build inside the rooms, everything was spot on. Whoever redesigned the hotel did a marvelous job!

It’s a beautiful city with lots of Austrian style influenced buildings. I would not recommend it during the summer because for swimming in the sea it is not the best place to go to, as there are not really nice beaches. But for off season it is very nice.

Tourist Hotspot so most cafés/restaurants/bars are overpriced, often ridiculously so for the level of service. Also too crowded, even in off season. One exception: Pizzeria Roko, go eat there!

Well Opatia is an old tourist town.
Well Opatia is an old tourist town. It does show its age and set of problems like all tourist towns. But still retains its charm and different eras that build it.
A wonderful place to walk enjoy coffee on some terrace or a perfect sea food meal.
A smart home base point for wider exploration of Kvarner region, its hills and mountains as its islands.

Opatija is the Monaco of Isrtria.
Opatija is the Monaco of Isrtria. Beutiful city with nice beaches. It worth to visit Medveja beach, and Moscenicka Draga beach as well, the water is more clean than the main beaches in Opatija.
For food and beverage, I suggest to try Cafe Imperial, Roko, but the absolut winner is Valle Losca Tavern, where you can have the most delicious dinner in Opatija. Both of them, they need reservation!
If you are looking for an active nightlife with parties, I do not recommend, there was only two bars, Summer Garden (close at 12PM, 1AM on Friday Saturday), and Colosseum Beach Bar, but they also close at 1AM. Pula, Crikvenica, or Porec can be better options for partying.

The city is nice, has some old houses as well as modern hotels, there are palm trees, rosemary and bayleaf bushes as fences.
A lot of tourist go there, so the local business owners speak at least English.
Since the seaside is made of big rocks, there are only created beaches which are crowded, but the little bays are better, just wear beach loafers because of the rocks and sea urchins. There is a small sandy beach for kids at the north end of Plaža Slatina.
There are no simple just-buy-and-go streetfood options, only sit-down-and-order places (except if you want popcorn, fried corn or ice cream), which is time consuming and you have to prepare in advance if you are with kids.
The sea water is clear, good for snorkeling, and there are glass bottom boats to see the fishes.

Opatija is the jewel of the Adriatic coast!!
Opatija is the jewel of the Adriatic coast!! Many hotels are more than 100 years old and are marvel on their own! We could wholeheartedly recommend Opatija to anyone who likes good old charm and high end quality hotels with price marks less than many other hotels in Europe!!
So much in love at Opatia :D
The host are super kind and helpful.
Thanks for greeting drinks and help us to booking the boat day trip.
.
The studio is so clean, well equipment and all facilities that made us feel home.
The terrace is our favoirite area, all for sun bath, drink, eat and admired the fatastic view.
.
The private parking is really convenient and where the studio lacated is also good for a walking distance for a grocery and restaurant.
It's our first time in Opatia and really looking forward for next time : )
Excellent location, the building gave us the sensation of Austro-Hungarian classic fitted to modern days. The room was clean, had everything we needed.
Plenty of good restaurants around to have dinner.
Above all, the staff did everything and above for us, to feel like home
Thank you Patricia and Anita for everything!!!
And now about the breakfast:
3 stars hotel offered a 5+ stars hotel breakfast , thanks to Tanija!!
Tanija, you are amazing!!
All in all, good value for money
We recommend it, really good place !!
Staff was professional and helpful over the phone, even before we decided to book. After we arrived, it was clear that this hotel offers excellent service. We even received a free room upgrade, and the room was quite nice, clean, and comfortable.
Food was great and diverse, at least for my taste, but someone picky may have other opinions.
The swimming pool is small but nice. The spa area, where I spent most of the time, is well designed and pleasant, but keep in mind that no bath suits are allowed :)
The hotel location is fantastic. The balcony allowed for hours of soaking up the atmosphere of watching people walking around the promenade or relaxing looking out over the beautiful Adriatic.
I was particularly impressed with the duty clerk who went out of her way to make our stay hassle free. She was very friendly and able to make decisions herself.
On site parking took away one of the most frustrating aspects of staying in the centre of Opatija.
the whole property is amazing. beautiful villa, small but lovely outdoor area - and si central! when we needed extra towels the host was so quick to respond and react. the bedroom has hotel quality, so cosy, even the sleeping sofa is very comfy. although we were unlucky with the colder & wet weather, inside it was warm and cosy.
probably one of the best deals I’ve ever found on booking.
You can't be more downtown than at this location. The balcony had a view to the ocean (a little to the side). The apartment was very clean and equipped with everything you might need, the rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Our host was super friendly, helped with our luggage and even assisted us booking transportation. Top notch.
Location, a big balcony with an excellent seaview, a quite spacious room, but first of all attitude and staff!
It was a birthday for my husband, and they prepared a room - not only a bottle of wine, but also a card and a flower! It made our day!
We also appreciated an opportunity to use a parking slot and a beach in the nearby hotel.
Location was amazing. It was 2 min down the steps to the nearest beach (Slatina beach). The host was very nice, she welcomed us and even was able to accommodate us checking in earlier which was great as we wanted to go to the beach that day. Overall we loved everything about this booking.
The rooms were spacious and clean. Parking space behind the hotel. Wellness area and massage from Marina (I believe this was her name) were great. I have never seen such a huge breakfast selection. The breakfast room was a dream, my girls felt like little princesses.
Excellent location with fantastic view out over Kvarner Bay, and just a few minute walk down to the Slatina. The apartment was spacious and well stocked. The host was very helpful with recommendations. Our best stay in a week of traveling in Croatia!
The Villa is in one of the best locations of Opatija, directly opposite the Park centar and next to the Bristol Hotel. The room was new, comfortable and very clean. We had a very nice welcome from the host and uncomplicated parking around the corner.
The property is beautiful. On perfekt place with sea in front in stunning Opatija. The stuff is fantastic always smiling and very helpful. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant with beautiful sea view. Anyway must be place on Croatian coast
The location, in the best area in Opatija, close to promenade, swimming coves and harbour. Directly opposite Admiral Hotel.
Parking and breakfast can be arranged at extra cost. Friendly and helpful couple.
We liked the upgrade to sea view, breakfast was very good. This is bit old hotel that needs redesign but it is still good and with certain charm. The location is also good.
The best breakfast I had in Croatia. Beautiful, antique rooms. Location in the heart of Opatija with direct access to the beach. Attentive staff, esp at breakfast
