I liked absolutely everything! The whole place is amazing - Soline are small and charming, hosts are super nice and pleasant, accommodation is clean, functional, spacey, with a beautiful terrace and the most wonderful view. It's truly ideal for vacation and charging of life batteries. I loved it and I recommend it to everyone!

Clean, quite room with refrigerator and electric kettle. Table for eating on the terrace. Great location on the doorstep of the national park entrance and 50m from the sea and a small supermarket.
Located in the heart of Mljet National Park, Guesthouse Pomena is surrounded by sea and nature and set in a quiet area without traffic.

On arrival we collected the keys 10-20m from the ferry at their restaurant. As mentioned before lots of manageable stairs (if that is an issue, but not a lot by European standards 🤔). Once inside all on one level, Rm 5.
Great views as you walk up!
We liked their response, “we are here to make your visit pleasurable so if not satisfied or if there is a problem please contact one of our staff and we will solve things immediately.” This is a respected response since they are willing to help at the time & set the tone.
Large entry foyer, good space for luggage, then the room was lovely, 2 comfortable single beds together ( this seems to be common as we move through Croatia). Didn’t realise this at first 👍. Good size room to accommodate bed with ample space around it. Bathroom off foyer so don’t disturb partner during the night.
Fantastic window looking out at glimpses of bay & terraces.
Our host looked after, luggage after check out for the whole day.
Very accommodating and friendly would recommend.
Note: National Park Pass-credit card, fantastic facilities for all levels, trails, bikes, get bikes cheaper inside the park- 20€ for 2hrs, electric train, cafe, tourist bureau; solar boats to monastery & the most friendly staff, all in the pass, 500m from accommodation.

Beautiful quiet and small town on a fairly small island.
Beautiful quiet and small town on a fairly small island. The town had a few activities to do from bikes to SUP to kayaking and of course hiking through the very beautiful Mljet National Park. Beaches are of course rocky like in most of Dalmatia.
The town will take no time to walk through, and getting around the rest of the island isn't easy unless by car (taxi or your own) -- but for the NP that's no issue as it's reachable within 15 minutes and doesn't allow cars for the most part.

Polače is lovely small village just in the heart of Mljet National Park. We enjoyed local bakery, dinner at Konoba Gunduliste and the nature all around. It is great starting point to exploring NP but also just for relaxing beach day.
If you like quiet and peace places for your holiday, Polače is definitely good choice for you :).

Quiet place, inside the National Park and close to the Lakes, which is great! The beach is nothing special with a lot of sea urchins in the water.
Expensive restaurants serving mostly wealthy people from yachts.

From Polače you can access the national park of Mljet easily - we hired bikes and it was a short (but hilly) ride to the entrance of the park and then we cycled around the lake and swam etc. There are a handful of restaurants in Polače - some of them are pretty expensive but there were a couple that were more reasonable.

Polace is quite lonely during September, when we visited, but it is a very good location for going to the NP Mljet, because you can take the free bus (included in the NP ticket) to center of National Park. There are some nice roman ruins, but it is not must-see sight. There are few expensive restaurants serving mostly see food, mini market, bakery. You can also rent a bike or scooter here.
As soon as we arrived we got welcomed by Sandra which accepted to hold our luggage even if the apartment wasn't ready yet. When the apartment was ready she showed us around and gave us some tips on moving on the island. We also got a complimentary bottle of local wine. The apartement is amazing with a big balcony looking over the sea of Polace. One of the rooms and the living room are connected to this balcony.
After the checkout the owner accepted to keep our luggage until we left by ferry in the evening.
Thank you!
Polace is a brilliant place to stay and the appartament is very good. Well equiped. Comfortable
The host is very, very nice and takes good care of guest
Just seeing that my daughter eats eggs every day - she brought us some free-range eggs
Not to mention cold, juicy watermelon 😀 or a home-made cake
Overall Mlejt is certainly the palce to visit and in Polace you have a good choice of restaurants and short walk to the lakes
A great little apartment in the great little place Polače on the the island of Mljet. Very close to the shops, restaurants and the ticket office of the national park. Owner was very welcoming and kind. She greeted us when we arrived with the ferry in Polače, and her daughter arranged a taxi to the ferry port in Pomena on our last day. We even got a taste of their homemade rakija.
Thank you Linda and Marcela!
The view was amazing. We loved the little town of Polace and our host, Maria, was the sweetest lady! The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had all the right equipment, but we had to buy basic things like salt, pepper, and cooking oil. Wifi was strong but didn't reach the living room at times - we didn't mind though.
Maria was just downstairs if we needed anything, which was nice.
Very nice host, we got upgraded to a room with terrace without additional charge. The Room was very nice with a modern bathroom, and there is also a shared kitchenette.
The apartment is located at the end of tiny Polače. There is a small family-run restaurant located at the waterfront with exceptional food, nice service and a beautiful view over the bay and the village.
10/10 would come again
A beautiful and modern apartment with a great terrace, private parking right in front, friendly hosts, and an excellent restaurant just below it. You can't really ask for more.
P.S. We decided to stay in Polace instead of Pomena and it was a very good decision. Polace is more quiet and charming and the beach is very easy to reach.
The facilities were fantastic, location brilliant and the sea views were incredible. Our host was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely trip - Mljet is well worth visiting! The apartment well exceeded our expectations. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was brilliant and the balcony was a highlight.
The apartment was an absolute paradise! Located in the quaint small village of Polace, it is absolutely stunning. It has everything you need for your vacation. We had a lovely time cooking in the apartment and having dinner on our balcony. Just a five minute drive from the national park and 30 minutes from the car ferry.
beautiful location, spotlessly clean, great access to the national park. Linda and her family were wonderful, thoughtful and amazing hosts. Linda even gave us a beautiful departure gift when we checked out. Mljet and Polace are beautiful places and apartments Linda is a great place to stay!
it was a nice place, the owners were very friendly. They welcomed us with a shot to drink (not too strong). The view was wonderful.
Out of all the places we visited in Croatia, my boyfriend and I agreed that Mljet was the best. There is an amazing lake nearby that you really should see!
The location was lovely, just a short walk into Polače and then you're on the national park trails. Having a small kitchen was very handy. The little courtyard out front was a nice place to eat meals and you could swim directly in front of the studio - how good!
Excellent host who greeted us with some ice cream and coffee. The location was purely magical. Uninterrupted views of the bay in front of you making your soul happy. We fell in love with Polace and this accommodation contributed to this.
Beautiful location, very comfortable, the family that runs the apartments and the restaurant is very sweet and helpful. We had a fantastic fish dinner downstairs, it’s the most reasonable and tasty restaurant in Polace.
The location is exceptional. We loved the host, she was a sweetheart. The water is very clean and peaceful. In from of the hotel there are multiple places to go down in the sea.
The room was clean and cute.
Beautiful, spotless room, gorgeous balcony, kind hosts! The food and coffee at the restaurant was delicious. I loved the short walk to the hotel pier. As in all of Mljet, the surroundings were breathtaking
Balcony, where it is possible to dine with a fantastic view on Polace's bay.
Separate bedroom, leaving room and kitchen
Pontoon with access to the sea for swimming, just opposite the apartment's building
The girl who showed us the room was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, but especially the shower facilities were quite old. Everything was functional and Polace is a very quiet town.
