Amazing stay. Very nice clean room, brilliant value! Also booked 3 day trek with them which was incredible, saw lots of orangutan’s, but the whole team made it so special. Guides Helmy (Mowgli) and Dean and chef Anto (great food) were so welcoming, friendly, polite, very funny and amazing guides. Made the trip brilliant. Dedycool the host was super!

If you plan on going to Bukit Lawang we would definitely recommend staying at the Jungle Inn! It’s right at the river curve, all the rooms look at the river and the restaurant too! We had the superior room and would recommend to spend the extra bucks for this dreamy room! It comes with a big terrace looking at the river and the jungle and an outside bathroom that makes every shower feel like you’re in a five star hotel! The bed is big and comfortable. We did not sleep this well in a very long time. Alde and all the other staff are very welcoming and kind and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food at the restaurant is so delicious! You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the view while eating and drinking like royalty! We are vegan and the staff at the Jungle Inn had absolutely no problem catering to our needs. The restaurant has a few board games and in the evenings you can sit and play games alone or with others. When we were there some of the staff sat together making music which made the evening so beautiful. Btw. if you’re lucky, you already get to see some Makkah monkeys or even orang utans from this hotel!

Sam’s Bungalows is quiet and isolated. You stay at the top of this narrow way that locate most of the tourist housing in Bukit Lawang. Therefore you will find lots of local restaurants while listening to jungle sounds. Sam’s kitchen is definitely one of the best, the food is excellent and the service provided is really good. We also used their taxi service from Medan airport. Perfect stay in Bukit Lawang!

5 starts, we are a couple, at our mid 30's we like to have a bit of a nice guesthouse, clean and friendly staff. Well, if this is what you also want, then we would like to recommend Sahnan's guesthouse. Business is runned by the family, son is perfectly English speaking. Washing service, very tidy and quick, good wifi, good kitchen as well. We recommend tis place.

Location, great surrounding, in the vicinity of the jungle full with monkeys (Thomas leaf monkey), Sumatran orangutans and other animals, and close to the river; Very calm, no traffic noises, you only hear noices from animals and the river flowing. This is as good as it gets. The owner (Udin) is a very nice guy and helped me with organizing my jungle trek as well as transportation. The guesthouse is located in a very nice part of Bukit Lawang, surrounded by lots of nature. You can also take a dip in the river right in front of it. I was also very happy with the food. Small menu, but all the dishes were excellent, homemade and with local ingredients. You will not find western food here, which is a good thing.

I made a 2-day 1-night visit to Bukit Lawang and the jungle with a colleague on short notice. We both had our own little cottage. Asim Paris Guesthouse arranged the transport to Bukit Lawang, the jungle tour, and the transport to Medan Airport. We enjoyed the dinner at the guesthouse. Also the breakfast with banana pancakes and fresh fruit was really nice. During the jungle tour with tour guides Bim(bo) and Martin we spotted a lot of Urangutans and other monkeys. Overall we had a short but very nice stay.
