We loved our stay in Ballinrobe - it was very close to a huge Tesco, and it was only 30 mins drive to Galway the next day. Very affordable and the house was beautiful. So peaceful and quiet and we all had the best night sleep.

We specifically were in the area to visit Ashford Castle and see the countryside. If you are touring the area for a few days, Ballinrobe is a fine place to use as a base. Just a few minutes drive from Cong, where The Quiet Man was filmed, some really beautiful ruins of an old abbey, and Ashford Castle is located. The locals in the pubs are very welcoming - you can really get the feel of the local culture, which is primarily what we were after.
Beautiful country location, yet close enough to Ballinrobe for amenities. Reed Warbler Cottage is comfortable, very clean, with strong Wi Fi and thoughtful extras & games to avail of. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all home comforts and the bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. The Hostess, attentive but not obtrusive, could not have done more and messaged a few times to see if there was anything we needed. We loved our stay and hope to return soon.
Convenient quiet location just outside the town of Ballinrobe. Perfect for exploring Connemara and the lakes plus Mayo up to Westport and down the West Mayo coast to Doolough Valley where the views are awesome. On site parking. Room has everything you need and Wifi is good speed. Breakfast is pre ordered and the variety of menu is good. Breege and Orla accomodate anything you ask for extra. There is a mini lounge sitting facility downstairs. I would recommend.
Location was excellent for touring Galway, Mayo and Sligo. Rooms very spacious and excellent bathroom particularly for someone with a disability. All mod cons available and no need to bring any cooking utensils etc, for the kitchen. Plenty of parking and Ballinrobe town just down the road for supplies.
we arrived quiet late and the hotel an bar was about to close - but nevertheless the satff was superfriendly and let us in, handed us the keys and showed us everything so we felt very welcome. unfortunately we only had a short stay before we countinued our ride. the breakfast was really good.
Location perfect as ballinrobe is my home town and within easy access to all facilities, lovely and comfortable place to stay , Patricia the host met us when we arrived , lovely lady , would definitely be staying there again without a doubt , it was just what we needed
The owner was great, always responding in timely manner. Facilities great, it was 14 of us and we had what we needed. Plenty space to park, nice walks around. AmaIng value for money. Being near Ballinrobe meant we managed to explore different parts of Ireland.
Lovely family. Very friendly service. Great room ,- super breakfast. Had own key - easy to come and go as you like. Right on the edge of Ballinrobe but easy to walk into town. Good parking. Would definitely stay there again if revisiting the area.
Wonderful place to stay near Ballinrobe. Great location, just a short walk from town. The facilities were helpful too - really good hairdryer, ironing board, can set up Netflix on TV, great WiFi.
Having been raised in an American farmhouse, this had similarities, but so much more. Beautiful landscaping, interior decorating, breakfast & hospitality. SO much better than a hotel!
Lovely large, clean house a few miles from Ballinrobe Town. Gerry the landlady was excellent and if we needed anything she brought it to us the same day.
Would stay there again!
Mary's warm welcoming smile greeted us. The house is clean, homely and comfortable. The breakfast better than a 5 star hotel. Very friendly. Highly recommend this B&B
Loved the location for our Ashford Castle visit. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens, delicious breakfast and authentic Irish hosts. Will stay here again.
