The Metropole Hotel Cork 4 stars

Hotel in Cork

In the heart of Cork City Centre, the Metropole Hotel Cork is just a short stroll from the city’s business district and many excellent shops, boutiques, theatres and galleries. The location is superb - right in the heart of Cork - and a beautiful historic building to say in with all the mod-cons. Excellent restaurant and service from the really friendly staff who fully accommodated our needs and requests. Also a mention for the lovely florist on site who - at short notice - was able to fill an order for me - thanks.

Maldron Hotel Shandon Cork City 4 stars

Hotel in Cork

Newly refurbished, the 4-star Maldron Hotel Shandon Cork is located in Cork's city centre, just a few minutes' walk from St. Patrick's Street and Opera Lane. It features a leisure centre. Staff was friendly. Great location in town center. Food was great. Bedroom clean. We enjoyed spending time in the swimming pool and in jacuzzi. We experienced for the first time a paranormal activity in our bedroom409 : our bedroom card needed to be activated daily despite that we left our card in our pant pocket (no phone with it) and the hangers (made from wood and iron) moved at night (no clothes felt from them) without explanations. It was an incredible experience

Cork International Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Cork

This hotel is directly opposite Cork Airport with a free shuttle service. It is just a 10-minute drive from Cork City, where there are shops, vibrant bars and restaurants. I cannot fault the hotel from the facilities to the staff. From the moment we arrived at the reception we were greeted by warm and friendly staff who happily interacted with our 2 boys who are 6 and 9 years old, chatting away to them. In the restaurant for breakfast each morning the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much for them. This was our first stay at the hotel but we will definitely be back of we stay in Cork again

FAQs about hotels in Cork

Irish Spirit In A Nutshell

Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city centre was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.

Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which offer a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.

For those craving more lively entertainment, the city offers the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.

The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.

When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodation; Booking.com has plenty on offer, from convenient hotels, to cosy guest houses and bed & breakfasts.
