Arrived but no owner to let us in. We had to call the phone number on the door but with a uk network I couldn’t call without using my expensive mobile data. Luckily a fellow resident let us in and we were told via phone call by the owner to go on into room and she will be back soon. Came back around 40min later. I went to make a coffee, kettle already had water in it along with black grainy scummy stuff at bottom - I poured the water down toilet and didn’t flush until owner came. Even though my children were wanting to use the toilet. When I showed the owner, no apology or dismay- she was more concerned as what it may be never mind us. Generally u found the atmosphere very uncomfortable, we were told to be quiet as ‘Doctors’ stayed there and they may be sleeping. I had two children with me- so we just left. The bathroom had no window and the fan did not do its job hence bad smell of damp. Breakfast was very uncomfortable, silence- no atmosphere, I asked re the fry one or two bacon sausage? I was made to feel absolutely uncomfortable and as if it was unacceptable to ask for two sausage & bacon! Bearing in mind no white/black pudding or potato/soda bread. The accommodation cost is a whopping 180€ for one night(Sunday) so I absolutely expected better!

I grew up in Drogheda for over 18 years so naturally i am totally biased as this is a very historic town and the river Boyne has been within reach since childhood with places like Baltray, Terminfechin and Clougherhead memorable haunts. The reason for staying at the D was convenient for all of my family members to visit. My usual place to sstay when "HOME" is with my sister but unfortunately she can no longer drive.

Drogheda is an historical town set between Dublin and Dundalk on the east coast of Ireland. It has a mainline station and a busy bus station providing connections to the main cities, regional centres and local places. The town is busy with plenty of places to eat, meet friends and have coffee. People are welcoming and interested in stories from abroad (in my case, London) and also like hearing what is going on up the coast (Dundalk) and in Dublin. There are some great 'curiosities' in Drogheda (historical sites & quaint shops) and most of all it's a stone's throw from Dublin, making it a convenient place for international travel and further exploration of particularly the east coast of Ireland. Because it's not Dublin, the cost of accommodation is considerably more economical, with a slightly more laid-back feel and good efficiency. I particularly liked the buses and even got a free ride when I got on the wrong one (something which rarely happens to me in London!).

I’ve now been to this hotel 3 out of the 4 times I’ve been to Ireland and traveling north. It is a beautiful location right next to the Boyne River and shopping mall which is ATTACHED to the hotel, on days when the rain is a pain you can just enter through the lobby of the hotel into either Hops Bar or Goodwins restaurant. I didn’t use this option, but you can! The staff is always super friendly and as accommodating as they can be with most things and I simply just love it here! Can’t honestly say enough good things about it! 🤗

The garden apartment was excellent . We travel to the area 2-3 times a year to visit family and it is the best place we have stayed in. The interior is very high quality with super comfy beds and the outside area has a wonderful atmosphere. It was lovely to arrive to a few treats and enough to start us off for a few days with milk, juice and plenty of tea and coffee. We even had little bags of toiletries. This is a very special place and it was a pleasure to stay in this accommodation for a few days.

On arrival you were brought to your room which is furnished with a small kitchen. There was some cereals and tea in the kitchen which you could enjoy following your journey. There was a bathroom and shower in the room and more facilities downstairs which meant that two people could get ready at the same time. The room was clean, practical and it was better than a hotel because you could prepare some snacks for you and your friends.

The room was nice, the bed was not very comfortable. We had requested for twin beds. The twin beds were right next to each with a king head board. We had to separate them ourselves. We found out after we booked that they were only serving a continental breakfast, no lunch or dinner served in the dining area. There was also remodeling going on in the hotel. Limited services. The staff was very pleasant.

This was a cosy B&B on the outskirts of Drogheda. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The place was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfy and we really appreciated the hot water in the shower and big fluffy towels warming on the radiator when we arrived soaked having been walking on the Boyne Valley Camino. We would recommend to friends and family.

Listoke House is beautiful place to stay, with everything just as you would wish it to be. But the hosts really make this an exceptional place. Raymond in particular looked after us, and ensured that we knew the best spots to visit in and around Drogheda while entertaining us with a few tales. Make sure that you ask about the house’s founder!

Sparkling clean, very friendly and helpful hostess Mai, lovely setting, perfect room and lovely spacious bathroom - shower gel and shampoo provided. The bedroom is the ideal size, such a comfy bed, and perfect temperature (I really object to how stiflingly hot some hotels and B&Bs can be). Yum breakfast.
