Dublin is a great City , there is so much to do and see , its the sort of place you could go back and do it totally differently. Sadly alot of homeless people/beggars in the city centre but I think alot of cities are like this these days. Not cheap, but again, any city break is unlikely to be. Lots of choice of bars and restaurants , if you're into your history then the 1916 rebellion walking tour is a must . Avoid Temple Bar if you dont want the stag/ hen mad experience , there are plenty of nice pubs/ bars around with some really good restaurants, although be warned you need to pre book the restaurants for the weekend . I would recommend Dublin if you like an active city break - with plenty of Guinness !
Dublin is expensive ! Lots to see and do though, atmospheric pubs, great places to eat out, Friendly people. Plenty of Museums and places of interest, day trips available to explore the rest of the country, even Belfast, shops galore !
It is a wonderful place, the Irish people are wonderful people and always eager to help.it is so historical and shopping there is something else..A visit to the Guinness factory is a must, also you must go to the Temple Bar.There are lots of touring buses where you can hop on and off,and shops selling Aran cardigans for children and adults. When out shopping every other shop is Carroll's,Aran, weavers and Jewellers
There are many older parts of Dublin and Phoenix Park to visit, which are well worth a visit for a day or two. If you enjoy the pubs and bars there are plenty to choose from around Temple Bar and the surrounding area. However, I would recommended looking slightly further afield for restaurants, as while there are some good ones in Temple bar, there are not as many as in previous years, and seem to be very packed. If you are looking for a truly Irish experience, then I would avoid the Temple Bar area on Friday and Saturday, as heaving with English Stag and Hen Parties.
Cool place to visit. Lots of history. Friendly people. Amazing nightlife with live music everywhere you turn. Highly recommend visiting Kilmainham Gaol! I could have gone without visiting the Guinness Storehouse—it gets very good reviews but I found it was very crowded and overpriced.
Dublin is such a vibrant city and is full of wonderful shopping, pubs, cafes, restaurants and other sites. The Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery are of course a must, but would also recommend the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, St. Stephens Greens park, Smithfield area, and Grafton Street. Dublin is also very walkable, but not really a grid so you may find yourself getting a bit lost but that was also half the fun! Every corner you turn has something else to see.
We really enjoyed the rooms cozy design and the size of the bathroom (we could easily get ready together side by side). The hotel is situated about 10 min by foot from Dublin City centre. The best pubs/ restaurants are to be found right down the street from the hotel so you won’t need to walk far to find a nice place to eat. If you require any drinks, the hotel has an own pub right downstairs (but is usually very crowded in the evenings). All in all we had a very nice stay!
Wonderful location in Dublin City centre. Short walk to big variety of pubs and restaurants. Right beside the shopping area in Dublin also. Didn't have the breakfast do can't comment on that but hotel was very clean and comfortable. Check in was very quick and efficient. Room was a bit smaller than average hotel room but this didn't bother us at all as we were out and about all day and weren't using the room until we were going to sleep.
At first I was disappointed not to be staying in the city centre, but the Clayton has a great location, within walking distance of the centre, in a posh area with quiet restaurants and bars, air coach and taxi stand right outside the hotel, spacious rooms, lobby, bar, breakfast area, exercise room with view, and above all very helpful multilingual staff (front desk, concierge) that kept track of deliveries from UPS and luggage from the airport.
Well this was my first day in Ireland and I had arrived very early in the morning but was not able to check in at that time. The hotel staff allowed me to check my luggage at the hotel while I wandered about Dublin until the afternoon. They were super helpful with giving me directions and map to use for exploring. I only stayed there for two day, but it was a perfect intro to being Ireland.
Breakfast was lovely - Excellent variety in both hot and cold breakfast options. The breakfast staff were very friendly and lovely to deal with. Location is ideal for Dublin City Centre with a Luas stop directly outside of the hotel. With the doorman allowing only residents in late at night, the hotel felt very safe and secure. Baggage storage is always appreciated.
Very beautiful facilities located perfectly! We enjoyed walking to all our destinations from this hotel. Felt very safe. The festival Taste of Ireland behind the Iveagh Gardens we attended on Sunday was just perfect! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Only purchased coffees and lattes in the restuarant but they were delicious!
The room was tidy and perfect for two days visit in Dublin. Located in calm area but close to the city centre. We were kindly assisted to our room and explained how everything works. Even there is a pub downstairs it did not made any extra noises into our room. The pub staff were friendly and pints served were heavenly as usual in Ireland.
The Temple Bar Inn is in the very city centre of Dublin. Our room was facing the Busker live music pub, so we had the music from there accompanying us every evening (which is definitely a pro, except if the musicians are bad!). We also liked the organization of the hotel, with a friendly bouncer at the entrance and great reception service.
Really great hotel in a fantastic location in the city centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby plus shopping in Grafton Street. The staff were super friendly & helpful. The price was reasonable considering the location and the cost of hotels in Dublin. Will definitely stay here again.
The room was lovely, very similar to Aberdeen Jury's so felt familiar. Large room, and a very quiet, peaceful night for a city centre hotel. Breakfast was very nice, no issues. Also received a morning newspaper which we liked. Will stay again when we return to Ireland.
Good value hotel. Easy access to public transport to Dublin city centre via buses/ DART. Location just a bit outside of the city centre, so it is quiet and we can have a good night sleep after exhausting day.
it is located in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the city centre. I had a bad fall while sightseeing and the hotel staff member Carolina was extremely helpful in getting us help and lots of ice.
Great location. Walking distance to most off the pick up points for yours. 10 mins walk to city centre. Arrived at 1 pm and hotel staff was very helpful to get me a room to check in after a long trip to Dublin.
At last - a Dublin city centre hotel that is good value for money. Excellent breakfast included too.
Nice hotel, nice location, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre
