Everything was great! Owner was very nice, we got keys quickly.
Small village but lots to do pithing close proximity!
Small village but lots to do pithing close proximity! The greenway bike trail was awesome, easy ride for beginners as it is on tar the whole 21 km's. Ate in Maggies, this is also we you rent the bikes. You definitely need a car to get around Fews as there is no taxis.
The walk and drive to Mahon Falls and a beautiful little forest on the way to the falls was really nice. And then the beaches was close enough too!

Fews is a rural area, it's not a place for those who like to be in the middle of the action. I loved the view of the green fields, being in the countryside for a short time, the fresh air, the peacefulness and the feeling of escape from my suburbanite norm. It's a little bit away from the main town of Kilmacthomas which is the closest for restaurants and pubs and a bit uphill to get to. I ate in Kierseys restaurant in Kilmacthomas which has an adjoined, over loud pub and bikes for hire. The staff were lovely, kind and attentive however the place lacked ambiance. I enjoyed my meal despite the scampi being frozen and not fresh. Fews is well situated for the Greenway, the Comeragh Mountains including the Mahon Falls and Coumshingaun Lake that you can walk around. The lovely Mount Congreve Gardens which I visited and & the Suir Valley Heritage Railway if loud, rattly, novelty trains are your thing are nearby. By car Dungarvan and further afield including Waterford and Tramore are nearby. Great stopover for heading further out south east or south west.
