Austin was a very gracious and most helpful host. He welcomed us and showed us around our lodging even though our plane was delayed so we arrrived later than expected. He had prepared the room for a chilly night very thoughtfully. The bed and the room were comfortable and cosy; the bathroom spacious and the shower good and easy to use. He brought us a warm, fresh-baked scones in the morning with butter, jam, good strong coffee and tea and a friendly good morning - a wonderful start to the day. All in all a perfect spot to stop the night, feel warm and welcomed and ready to explore.

The house is extremely charming. Especially the breakfast area in the wintergarden that looks upon the park-like garden is enchanting. Lots of birds singing outside. Jim is a great host, we felt at home at his place. (Not suitable for people with cat allergy.)

Very comfortable bedroom with plenty of space and sumptuous bed linen and pillows. very generous sized, spotlessly clean bathroom with soft towels and lovely toiletries.
Breakfasts are fabulous with a great variety of hot and cold selections on offer.
I attended a dinner dance while staying and can honestly say I've never attended a function with better food and table service.
Finally, the staff. They're friendly, warm, welcoming and professional.

Breakfast had no option for toast which was very strange and when we requested brown toast we were sent two slices of brown bread that were cold and hard. There was not even one piece of butter. I have never once in my life stayed at a hotel where there is no toast. Very strange.
So much to see & do. Blueways/Greenway right on your doorstep or a 7km ride to Carrick on Shannon. Beautiful scenery canal locks/paths and Wooded walks. Really quaint bars/restaurant and yummy Chinese right on the doorstep😉

Food in the bistro was very average and very over priced.
Food in the bistro was very average and very over priced. The room was very small. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The noise at night went on until after 3am. I called at 12:40am to ask if the noise could be kept down and I was told it would finish at 1:10am, but it went on for hours. Went to relax but that didn’t happen. Definitely would not recommend and will not return.
