A very impressive Castle Hotel surrounded by equally impressive grounds and Lough Meelagh. Interior is very grand as you enter with very welcoming staff. Very nice room on the 3rd floor with views of the gardens. There are two dining areas, casual where we had dinner and fine dining, where you can have dinner but also where breakfast is. Great breakfast. A definite must stay experience.

The location was exceptionally to our liking and couldn't be bettered.

Upon walking in the place had an "Olde Worlde" feel which I tend to like - lots of pics on the wall from the hotel in days gone by, and generally an air of 70's charm. However, as we walked to our room there were child's drawings blu-tacked to the wall, and there was a child kicking a football in the hallway. It became clear that we were staying in a direct-provision center. The trip went downhill from there.

Fabulous location and very luxurious hotel on entry. Room was recently remodelled with new carpet and was an incredibly comfortable room with a massive bed. Staff on reception were lovely.

Geevagh house is a brand new house a little bit outside a small village on the borders of Sligo and Roscommon and Leitrim. It is well appointed and we had a few suggestions which the host graciously accepted and welcomed the feedback. It is a bit of a distance from shops and restaurants etc so prepare to go self-catering a bit more than you might if you were staying in a town dwelling. The host is very friendly and was there to greet us as arranged.
