This is my second visit to Caroline's place and it was even nicer then I remember. Her little touches and attention to detail are outstanding. I travel quite a lot and this little gem is by far the nicest I have come across. The house is immaculate. The linen is better then a hotel but above all it is the little extras like milk, water sweet treats that really make it stand out. Caroline is an amazing host and an excellent communicator. Best wishes for the season ahead. We will return 🙂

Waterford Viking Hotel, hotel in Kilmacthomas

Offering spacious rooms, free parking, and hearty Irish breakfasts, Waterford Viking Hotel is less than a 10-minute drive from Waterford city centre. It features free Wi-Fi, and daily carvery lunches....

I and my husband spent 3 nights at the Viking Hotel and I have to say it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service better than any other hotel we stayed in. The location is a little bit far from the city centre, but you can easily arrive there by car or by bus. A big plus for us was that the room was quiet and we could catch on our sleep.

    Lovely spacious house.

Lovely spacious house. Fully kitted out kitchen, large dining area, comfortable kitchen. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable. It was warm and cosy and the hosts had a lovely lighted Christmas tree in the sitting room which added a lovely seasonal atmosphere. We didn't get to use the garden (December!!) but its a lovely short walk along the Greenway into Kilmacthomas. Since it was Christmas, not much was open but we could see coffee shops and restaurants which would be lovely at other times. Short drives to Waterford and Dungarvan give lots of options for activities and dining.

Lovely little village after a long walk on Greenway.

Lovely little village after a long walk on Greenway. Lots of history, could have spent another day. For those staying for the evening or overnight, the choice of eateries after 5:00pm is very limited even though otherwise advertised. Our stay was mid September.

A perfect place to experience Irish hospitality.

A perfect place to experience Irish hospitality. The people in the bars/restaurants/shops could not have been nicer. Kilmacthomas is a lovely little town but is within a 15/30 minute driver to bigger places such as Dungarvan & Waterford city.

Lovely peaceful and charming property in reasonable sized village. Easy to get to by car or what appeared to be a regular bus/coach connection from Waterford and Cork which. Has a Chinese Takeaway next door and local shops and pubs/restaurants within walking distance. I could not fault the property or its owners on anything. They gave clear instructions on accessing the keys to the property and everything they advertise is present in the property even if I did not use most of it as due to travelling overnight by ferry to Ireland and having a tight full itinerary for things to do. The person I travelled with and myself used it to sleep in only. I believe this property has many satisfied travellers like myself going by the amount of thank you cards left. I would 100% book this property again and I am already planning my next visit to Ireland.
