The waiter named jack in the bar was exceptional, he seemed to be correcting the mistakes of others, was very polite and summed up what an Irish welcome used to be like. He also seemed to be doing the work of the other three waiting staff, I got lucky that he was serving my table as the tables either side of me received the wrong order. As a business in an affluent suburb of Dublin, You should be trying to set a higher standard than what I experienced (Jack excluded).

We got food delivered to room food was very nice and service was great and very quick to deliver. We slept good bed was comfy was up in middle of night. We stayed in runway room was cool watching planes taking off and could barely hear the planes taking off during the night. Over all great stay and will definitely stay again

We loved everything of the hotel.
Simple and cozy room with everything you needed.
Although not included, we chose to have some
meals in the bar, breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Exquisite.
The location, although a little outside Dublin, is
quiet and well-serviced (there is a market
and a huge shopping center 3 minutes away
on foot), in a tidy and clean context, close to
public transport stops and a few minutes from
the airport. ideal for those who bought tickets at
inconvenient times, like us.
Final mention for the bar/hotel staff, all very
kind, super helpful and flexible to any request we made. Thank you.
Portmarnock itself beautiful. Safe beach, great walk between Portmarnock and Malahide and great golf. Can recommend Lali’s local restaurant, Jameson’s bar at the Portmarnock hotel and Malahide for bars, restaurants and retail therapy

Lovely walks along the coast, neighbouring Malahide is about a 40 minute walk where there are many great bars and restaurants. Great golf courses in Portmarnock, restaurant & bar options are limited.

We stayed here to be close to the airport because we had an early AM departure. It was an easy 15 min drive to DUB via back roads. The hotel was fabulous, the ocean views were spectacular and the room was very clean.

Fantastic location on a beautiful wide beach with wonderful walking possibilities eg 45 minutes to Malahide on coastal promenade, also great walks from Howth on headland in opposite direction, choice of 6k, 7k and 11k walks. Howth itself is a pretty fishing village with lots of fresh fish for sale and restaurants around the harbour area. Malahide Castle also a short drive with its lovely grounds and Avoca restaurant. Also a great value hotel with lots of quality and service for the money. Reception staff really helpful and breakfast super. Golf course is beautiful, quite expensive but deals available on the hotel’s website. I think the hotel would be more expensive if it had a pool and maybe tennis courts. But the beach on your doorstep makes up if the weather is good. Highly recommend, 9.5 out of 10

The location of the hotel is a significant benefit; The advantage of being so convenient to Malahide in one direction and Howth in another direction provides for additional options. The quality of meals was excellent despite the restrictions posed by the ongoing pandemic (Covid 19).

Portmarnock Hotel and Golf is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.This was our third stay and we will go again as soon as we can. Wonderful facilities, staff and surroundings. Highly recommend it to anyone
My wallet was stolen two hours before my flight left the US or Dublin. They worked with me in several small ways to minimize my discomfort and hassle until I could get enough credit cards to use. They also were pleasant to deal. all knew my name, and were happy undertaking concierge-style support activities despite there not being a working concierge. Breakfast was substantial and tasty, and I found myself having typical Irish bar-style conversations with locals two my nights there.
We picked this place last minute because the hotel we had booked cancelled us due to the Ukranian refugees. Therefore this was a last minute booking NO CHOICE
I just would state it was better than sleeping in the car
Barely any restaurants around area
Restaurant in hotel was closed due to ?? No breakfast supplied . After 5 weeks in Ireland first hotel no Breakfast
You can't pick a better location than this hotel. It is across from the beach and has amazing views. I may be biased, my room faced the ocean. The restaurant / bar was large enough to accommodate a large number of people including locals stopping by for a pint and to watch the game on TV. It was a fun vibe.
The location was good for traveling to the airport. The check-in process was easy. The view of the Irish Sea out the front of the hotel is spectacular. The restaurant was quaint and food was delicious.
The location is beautiful right along the beach and short drive into Malahide. The hotel & our room was very modern and clean and had all amenities we needed.
Staff were very friendly.
