Delhi is a vibrant and full of life city! However I would say it’s very unclean and can be quite intimidating at first. The people spot you as a tourist and will ask you for money all of the time and follow you. Best taking a tuk tuk around the city. Always compare Uber prices to any taxi quote as usually they give you silly prices as you’re a tourist. Recommend india travel information. We have a private driver for a week who has been professional and reliable.

Our stay was horrible. The pics which were shown while booking was totally opposite. Nothing was clean. Did not get tea or anything. Breakfast was included but they said it will be served at 8 a.m.we could not eat breakfast. The bathroom was filthy and smelly. Balcony was there but of no use. Linen was dirty and torn. Nothing was provided as per the booking. It was a total cheat on us. Staff was drunk when they came to provide water bottle at night.

The city is extremely polluted and dirty. The traffic is terrible - you stay for hours in your taxi if you need to cross the city - complete chaos, nobody is following any traffic rules. We booked a 1 day tour around the city for 8h to see 5-6 touristic attractions (according to the itinerary made by the guide) - we barely managed to see 3 attractions in those 8h because you spend A LOT of time in traffic. (and this was during the weekday) If you need to be in Delhi for any reason, I would avoid the city center and spend the day in Aerocity instead. It's expensive, but you can isolate yourself a bit from all the chaos.

New Delhi, being the capital of India, is a very big city. The local transport (With the Metro specially) is well connected (and reasonably economical) to most of the famous tourist destinations. The roads, pavements are clean and good. New Delhi is a foodie delight. Countless Dining options and super street food. Unlike Mumbai, one needs to stay atleast 7 to 8 nights in New Delhi to see all the tourist options at a lesiure space.

Anyone who has visited India will understand the importance of being away from the traffic and constant honking horns. Some people might find the windowless room claustrophobic but, for me, it provided a further buffer to traffic noise.
