We returned to this hotel after 27years to show Shimla to our daughter. It was part of our 4 week tour of India and we chose to spend Xmas at the Springfields Which is situated a good walk from the mall in a quite area
Amazingly we were allocated our old room which was wonderful. Both our room and our daughters were very spacious and comfortable

Our room was lovely. Large, clean and stylish. Reception staff were very helpful and professional. The location was excellent- the hotel is accessible by car yet only 5 minutes walk from the top of the pedestrianised mall.

Beautiful city and amazing to see the British side of things. 2-3 days is max to stay in Shimla. Lots of places to choose from to eat and drink. Beware of the monkeys on the street specially if you are holding food. The train track and the Viceregal lodge was my favourite and being a Christian the two church was beautiful to see and still being used.

We were quite shocked at how busy Shimla has become and how polluted the atmosphere is now compared to 27 years ago. The Himalayas were barely visible and had very little snow which for December we thought was unusual
It’s still a beautiful part of India but perhaps December isn’t the best time to visit as they have a winter festival which attracts people from all over India hoping for snow …..there was none.
We found lots of excellent places to eat where you could enjoy some fabulous sunsets
We climbed to monkey temple taking one of the old routes which was very picturesque and we avoided the crowds
The Viceroys Palace was a bit of a disappointment as there was a 4 hour wait for a guided tour Thankfully we’d asked our driver to wait for us so we enjoyed a walk round the gardens but didn’t wait to go inside
You can see plenty of monkeys but need to be very vigilant as they were steal from you many people were getting to close and having their phones snatched. There is a large population of stray dogs which was new to us. They are in good condition and fed by the local residents who encourage the dogs as they keep the monkeys away

Very beautiful HIll Station. People are very good.
Very beautiful HIll Station. People are very good. Food is awesome. Cold is just perfect for people from West and South India. A bit crowded during weekends, parking is an issue. Use lifts where ever available as we are not used to climbing uphills and walkign so much when coming from other regions. Wear good shoes as there is lot of walking. Jhaku Temple rope way is approx 500 per person for two ways ride. Mall road is expensive but stuff is good. Kufri and Mashobra are amazing too.
It's like a place that takes you back to early 1900s. Experience the true charm of Shimla. If visiting, make sure you maintain the calm and decorum of this place. Don't go if you must drink and party out loud. Go there to relax. Enjoy the view and soak in the simple yet royal feeling of this 120 year old summer retreat. Quaint heritage hotel with original historic ambience retained. Lovely lawn & patio. Very courteous & pleasant staff. High customer friendly orientation.
I am a frequent traveller to Shimla from past 15 years and have stayed in many hotels in and around Shimla. This property provides a good overall package for a good comfortable accommodation in the centre of the city, the property is on main circular road, provides parking and yet is v.close and walkable to Mall road. A lot better than many famous accomodations in the city.
Would like to recommend this to every kind of traveller, you won't regret it!!
Nice hotel in Shimla one with family or couple must stay here. Very nice and cooperative staff. they helped travellers alot. Location is much near to mall road. Early check in facility they provide me without any cost which was nice experience. Food is quality is average. One must try the resturant near hotel which they serve good quality food. Overall nice stay with all modern amenities required in room.
Hotel Ganga is located very near to Shimla Mall road. The rooms were very spacious and the hotel staffs were very friendly. They also provide room service for food and other needs. The hotel does not have its own covered parking but they might arrange a place to park your vehicle within 100m of the hotel.
I will recommend this hotel if you are looking for decent budgeted hotels.
Totally loved the place. NOT far from Mall Road Lift . Can easily get public transportation to move to and fro from hotel to mall road. Will advise you to walk to hotel instead of using any vehicle , will totally love the view around. And opt for room with the view , You will enjoy every second of shimla even from the room. HOTEL staff was very corporative and helped me.
The view from the room was good. The service was appreciatable. Walkable distance from mall road and also many small vendors Nearby for urgent needs. Te coffee shops and mini restaurants near the hotel stay was helpful. Hotel staff ,Mr Sharma was very responsible .
Big Thanks to Sachin, who owns the place. Such a warm person and helpful.
Excellent Hotel. An absolute gem. Good and prompt staff. Located about 10-15 mins from Mall Road. Ideal for families. it has a great rooftop restaurant with fantastic panoramic views. good breakfast items. Rooms are well appointed. Would advise to book atleast club rooms to enjoy views from balcony
It's situated right on the Mall road in centre of the main area. The rooms are well heated and there is 24*7 hot water. It had a good view of the city. The nearby Shimla Times cafe has pretty good food and very lively atmosphere. Krishna at front desk was very helpful and made our stay better.
This is right on the mall road of Shimla amidst all the hustle bustle of the town. Service was beyond good. Its a heritage property and gives you a feel of being in the old times.
Being a small property there are only a few guests at a time so the breakfast was not overcrowded. All was good.
Our stay was fantastic. The location of the hotel is nearby to lift place for mall road as you can easily get the bus from that place to mall road. The hotel staff is very cooperative and polite. Overall the experience was wonderful, must recommend to others for nice stay at Shimla.
Situated at a prime location near Mall Road.
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Also the cafe rooftop has good mountain view and amazing food.

Delicious food 😋. Service 5/5. Clean 5/5. Staff behaviour 5/5. Attentive too. Best hotel near Mall road. They have paid parking facilities also. They guide shimla very clearly. Loved their hospitality 🤠.
Nice cosy hotel. The location is very good just on the mall road. The rooms were nice and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet spread is good. Overall a nice stay!
Awesome balcony view….mall road is near to this hotel, as we booked it just for a night so we didn’t took all the services….but overall great experience with the good ambience😊Happy visit
Stay was awesome. Specially the courtesy and behavior of the staff. Location is just 20 min walk from mall road. View from room was superb. Highly recommend. Would love to visit again.
