Beautiful location. Clean. Quiet.
Delicious food for dinner in the hotel restaurant that has recently opened.
It was everything we needed.

Amazing location with panoramic views over the sea. One wakes up and falls asleep to the sound of the waves.
The apartment is very spacious, the bedroom is a decent size too and the beds very comfortable. Parking on site.
The terrace is no longer shared with the neighbours, a wooden wall has been built to divide the terrace so each apartment has their own private part.

It was the best place we stayed in Iceland so far. The whole apartment was super cozy and warm. Sleeping with the sound of the sea is amazing. While we were there there was a blizzard and we were actually happy because by being stuck we could enjoy the place more. Super recommended
Centrally located in the old fishing village of Olafsvik, this hotel is less than 1 km from the harbour. North Star Hotel Olafsvik is set amongst the scenic surroundings of Snaefellsjokull Glacier.
Located along the coastline, Við Hafið Guesthouse offers simple accommodation in Ólafsvík. Guests here can benefit from free WiFi and the fitness centre on site.

Sleep&go. Clean rooms, free access kitchen, WiFi all what modern human need. Helpful staff.
That was my 2nd time and for sure I will be back there with more friends.
Place and people are nice,
the right position to visit Snaefellsjokull National Park and the west of the peninsula.
There are no easily accessible restaurants and shops, you have to provide all your supplies.
In the hostel, you have a nice functional kitchen, refrigerator, and a small bar to buy drinking and snacks: light beverages, juices, potato chips, and smarties. To find milk, bread, and food, you have to wait for the day after, at the nearest shop with a minimum 15 km run. Once you organize yourself, life is comfortable, and friend are nice.

Small, quiet town along the water near the tip of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It is quite beautiful in the area with sites nearby. The location is great if you are spending two days touring the peninsula. The murals are fun to view but that's about all there is to do in the town itself.

We were trying to find a hotel close to the Snaefellsjokull Nat'l Park. Now that we have been there, we would opt for staying on Olafsvik (with 2 restaurants for dinner) or go to other side of park at Hellnar or Arnarstapi.
Hellissandur didn't have much going on, except Gilbakki Kaffihus is very nice for mid-morning snack, lunch or afternoon break. Very nice people.

I went to climb Snæfellsjökull, a 30 year ambition.
I went to climb Snæfellsjökull, a 30 year ambition. Weather was horid, glad to not be spending the next 300 year as part of a glacier. Lets say it was an exciting day and not for those without experience with Ice weapons.
What a treat!
The house itself is insolite, used to be a bar, a grocery shop and later turned into e guesthouse.
Generous and homey spacing and a beautiful flow, you enter from the street to the dining room then to the bedroom and then out on the terrace overviewing the ocean.
The monocular on the terrace was a welcomed add on from the hosts, they knew seals are just in front at low tide...
The cold beers in the fridge were also a nice touch ;)
Loved our stay!
We spent 10 days in Iceland - each night in different place but Cliffside Apartmanet completely exceeded our expectations.
There are no words to describe what we felt after opening the door: living room and kitchen has a soul and add to this comfortable bed and these views...... sea on one site and mountain on the other....
The gramophone made our day and night. We will come back in the summer!
The location is terrific, with spectacular views of the ocean through large "picture windows" in the living room and bedroom. Given that Hellisandur is such a small town, Gotuhus is within easy walking distance of the restaurants, gas station with groceries, the legendary The Freezer culture club and hostel, and the entrance to Snaefellsjokull National Park.
I loved everything about this place! The kitchen had more utensils than most people have at home, so many choices of board games, and all the books! Made you feel like you want to stay for a month to discover everything on the shelves! Such a great idea for an apartment! Do not miss a chance to get breakfast served by a real viking in RAM Iceland!
Freezer Hostel has a huge living room, with musical instruments, many books, games, coffee & tea, very warm and inviting, and immediately feels like home!
I even made some music with one of the staff (flute & guitar), met many great people.
This is probably the best (or one of the best) hostels in Iceland.
Beautiful, cute and quaint house. Loved staying here. Very responsive hosts. Would highly recommend! Great location to explore the peninsula. Restaurants in town were all closed for the season but we found restaurants 10 mins away and a grocery store so no problem. Loved the murals in this town also.
The staff, Patryck made sure everything was perfect! His recommendation for a restaurant was perfect and he even made the reservation for us. The breakfast was very fresh and delicious, you could see there was a lot of effort out into it The beds in the hotel where very comfortable.
The first morning we got a breakfast box for each one and it was not very good. The second morning there were more people in the hotel and breakfast was served and each person choose what to eat, much better.
It was our first experience with “no reception” arrival but it worked very well. Email received day of our arrival provided code for entry to hotel and code for room. The rooms were exceptionally clean.
Really nice place with an exceptional view. Perfect location.
Appartement very well equipped and comfortable.
Proximity to Gilbakki Kaffihus one of the best we found on our tour of Iceland
Amazing place surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff was lovely! Beautiful newly open restaurant where you can eat nice dinner.
Really recommend to stop by and slow down for a bit.
Very unique place. Comfortable beds (bedlinen included). Light and socket next to every bed. I was lucky to be there during concert of Icelandic Singer. Good spirit in this place.
Great view. Close to a handful of small towns with restaurants. Very peaceful and beautiful. Parking was right next to the place. Very easy to get in and out.
The staff was very polite and helpful, the location is amazing if you are traveling Snæfellsnes. The breakfast was very good and this hotel is a safe bet.
