Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded. Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help. But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West). Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

Hvolsvöllur has plenty of good accommodation and a good grocery store. Very nice swimming pool as well. So its a good place for a base to travel from on day trips. Eldstó restaurant is a very friendly small place with great burgers and soups. Local attractions available.

The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos. We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.

The setting is fantastic. We even had a view of Seljalandsfoss from our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great. Dinner was tasty (Beyond Burgers all round) and despite not having any vegan desserts on the menu, the owners had arranged for vegan icecream to be delivered specially. The staff were sensitive to the member of our group with a nut/seed allergy. I would highly recommend this hotel. Parking was easy just in front of the hotel. All 6 of our group felt we could have stayed longer.

Fit perfectly for our group of 5, the apartment is spacious with well equipped kitchen, a bonus would be the washing machine and dryer for us to do our laundry which the other places we had stay in Iceland do not have it, finally we can wash some of our dirty laundry due to some rainy days. Check-in was fuss free as owner has provided key box pin and apartment details prior to check-in. There is also supermarket nearby for groceries needs.

Everything! Friendly staff, everything was clean and they have a cupboard for your stuff to go which was a good size. The rooms had a key to enter, and the bathrooms and showers were really nice too. The best hostel in Iceland, and honestly probably the best one I’ve ever been to! I ended up coming back the next week unplanned and was happy to stay again. Wish they had locations all over the country haha

The location was great. The property was very nice. A cabin in the south of Iceland is nothing to complain about. The inflated bubble room would've been great if we had better weather at night. Cloud cover kept us from seeing the Northern Lights. You can't control the weather. The view outside was AMAZING! No complaints. Just nature's beauty at its finest, no matter which direction you looked.

The cottages are lovely and have all the necessary amenities to spend a few days. The check in process was very easy, and check in and check out could be done any time without having to wait. Located in the nature, the surroundings were calm and on a clear day you can even see one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls from the cottage.

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring the South/South West and it was fantastic. Our room was a really good size and nicely decorated (like the rest of the hotel). We loved the spa and used it both nights. Meals were excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we came back to Iceland.

The breakfast was very nice, the surroundings are beautiful even though we were not lucky with the weather. The staff was super helpful and the hotel was beautiful and cosy. All details were thought of in the interior and spa was super nice even though it could have been a bit cleaner.

Very nice hotel. Nice atmosphere and decor. Beautiful surroundings. Best breakfast we had all week. Everything was made fresh and the buttermilk pancakes were excellent! Also the room was not too hot unlike every other hotel we've been to and use of hot tub is included.

The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it. The towel and sheets were very cool. The room was little bit small but it was enough for us. There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
