A cute hotel in a little village. We had an awesome stay and the people working there were really friendly. We had a laugh with the girl at the reception and she helped us figure out what we could do around the village. She was really helpful. There was also a cafe on the other side of the road which was owned by the people of the hotel, so we spent the evenings there. It had a nice vibe. Near the cafe was a guesthouse (Taergesen) also owned by them. The girl from the reception gave us a tour of the guesthouse and it was really cosy and sweet. Next time we might try that :)
Finally there was breakfast included in the hotel and we had a big choice of food. We could eat as much as we wanted, so everyday we started with a good meal. Our stay was Austur in Reydarfjordur was one of our favourites. Such another life than the one we are used to. Felt like you were in another world.

The staff was friendly and informative. The weather turned bad and we booked the place last minute. The bad weather prolonged and we decided to stay for another night. There's a bakery, petrol station and kronan supermarket nearby. We love the friendly and cute cat in the property too.

Our host, Eva, was very kind and helpful. Made us feel at home. She recommended an excellent bakery, Sesam, in Reydarfjodur, for our next morning drive out of town
Bonus: The grocery across the street has a little bit of everything.
Set on Iceland’s east coast, this family-owned guesthouse offers panoramic fjord views and free coffee/tea to guests. Reydarfjördur village is a 20-minute drive away.

Elinar and her husband greeted us with enthusiasm on arrival. The house is a beautiful work of timber art. Tea/coffee is provided in the small sitting room but there is no ability to prepare a meal (this is well communicated in the listing and Elinar provided good restaurant recommendations). It was good for a stop over whilst driving around Iceland.
Set on the most eastern fjord, Nordfjördur, this family-run farm stay is 7 km from Neskaupstadur town centre. It provides free WiFi, scenic country views, as well as horse riding tours on site.

Lovely place, had not realised that it is a working farm, but it was great for us for a night. The hosts were very kind and we even had a show during breakfast, with a bit on icelandic history, the vikings and genetics... most entertaining.
Surrounded by nature, this guesthouse is within 10 minutes drive of Egilsstadir and Lagarfljot River. Rooms have access to a shared lounge and free hot drinks at all times.
If you're looking for a property with a character/charm then this isn't it. It looks like some kind of low rent business centre that was converted into a hotel. The room was adequate and spacious enough. Given the low price per room I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't disappointed. Breakfast was included and it was fine.
We were stranded in the town because of snow. The hotel was ok, nothing exceptional. The staff was very friendly and they were a little overwhelmed by the snow (so all travelers stranded there).
However, they managed quite well and overall it was a nice stay.
Definitely check out Cafe Cozy when you are there.
Easily accessible, clean, comfortable and parking right outside available. Arrived very late but was still able to check it. A lot of places do close very early in Iceland, including hotel reception, but they managed to find a way to accommodate late arrivals which helped a lot.
We really enjoyed Reydarfjordur and the surrounding area. The hotel's breakfast was very good, with a variety of food - hard-cooked eggs, cold cuts, fresh veggies, and good cookies we saved for later. The beds were comfy, the room was quiet, and check-in & check-out were easy.
They were very accommodating about late check-in. And apparently, the hotel was featured in the movie Fortitude. It was a decent room with a refrigerator and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was included for us which was a nice way to start the day. Staff was super friendly.
It was the cheapest option around the area when I booked it.
Breakfast was included but you have to walk to another hotel to get it. There is a shared mini fridge and free coffee.
The guesthouse was clean when we arrived.
The hotel was conveniently located along the road in a picturesque town with excellent vistas. This is a basic no-frills place, with the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was very good and well-presented.
The breakfast was good. Selection available were the common items found to prepare a continental breakfast. Toast, cold cuts, cheese, juice, coffee, etc. Hotel is located close to a supermarket and gas station.
This hotel recently changed ownership and names! We were told we were the 4th group to stay under new management! The rooms and building are freshly renovated. And the staff is outstanding!
Staff offered to let us stay in another hotel building where the reception is. We sort of upgraded to a room with private bathroom. Staff also assisted to heat up our food at the kitchen.
Quite and clean room. The hosts are very welcoming. Breakfast had good variety of food. For any future travelers staying in Reydarfjordur, I would definitely recommend this hotel :)
