Óspaksstaðir- New Renovated Farm in Hrútafjörður, hotel in Staður

Offering a terrace, Óspaksstaðir- New Renovated Farm in Hrútafjörður offers accommodation in Staður. The property has mountain and river views.

The host was very helpful and sent me messages few days before our stay, and ask if we needed any travel advice. We arrived late at night, but the host always responded in a very timely manner. When I entered the house, it far exceeded my expectations because I found that they are really bad at taking photos😂. The interior decoration is full of natural and warm design, with many furniture and decorations made of raw wood materials. The house is located in the farm of the host's grandparents, which is my dream life. Quiet, peaceful, those who like solitude will definitely love this place. I love the farm and really enjoy being with animals. So I asked if I could see the animals and they were very helpful and immediately gave me a phone call to talk about this matter. The kitchen had everything needed, coffee machine, oven, etc. Even the food and all ingredients. Though we didn't eat anything, they were very well prepared. The next morning I saw the sheeps in the farm, can't describe how cute they are❤️But pity I didn't see the free and happy horses, they're running around. I can't fault anything at all, this house feels like home and I would definitely recommend it to more people.

The place is amazing , staffs are excellence . we travelled there in the day with bad weather so we messaged to them and bothered them all day before we arrive. They provided information completely and promptly. when we arrived, we felt like we arrive home with warm welcome. They also provided bread, jam, coffee , warm tea for free of charge. Really felt like home and luckily we saw the great vibes of northern light hear. Amazing. Miss the place already.

North Star Staðarflöt, hotel in Staður

Featuring self-service check-in, North Star Staðarflöt is located half way between Reykjavik and Akureyri. Each simple room offers a TV and a private bathroom with shower.

Perfect place as a mid-point in a long drive. Virtually ZERO to do, including only a gas station grocery only. But as a "motel 6" type option, it was better than average.

Brekkulækur Guesthouse, hotel in Staður

Located away from the hustle and bustle in a beautiful river valley in northwest Iceland, this family-run guest house is 20 minutes’ drive from the village of Hvammstangi.

We got late checking in. The owner of the Villa was extremely rude. Both the husband and wife were so rude to us. They kept complaining to us how we were late to check in. We felt like we were living at the property for free. They treated is like third world citizens. They have no manners and don't know how to take care of guests or be hospitable. I would never treat my enemy like this.

Looks nothing from the outside but this hotel is amazing, beautiful large room and bathroom with all amenities. Ladies on the desk were very helpful and food in the restaurant was lovely The tea and coffee station is an added bonus filling your cup up before you leave for your drive

We just needed a place for a nightover in the middle of our route to Husavík, and the place was very nice, clean rooms, friendly host and staff, very well equipped kitchen, and surprisedly a very good and free breakfast. Best value ever in Iceland.

It was a nice hotel situated between Reykjavik and Akureyri. The facilities were good and if I was making the journey again I’d be happy to go back to this hotel. Very clean, nice big space. Beds weren’t the best but fine for the night. Breakfast was an average breakfast for the price, toast, meat, cheese and fruit etc. Not many restaurants in close proximity but there’s a microwave and hot water in the lounge area if you want to make yourself something. We went to the garage 5 mins away that sold sandwiches and other meals and ate there.
