The room was comfortable and a good size. The bathroom was functional and the shower had acceptable water pressure. The bed was very comfortable.
The staff was friendly and the check in area in the bar was nicely decorated. The location is reachable by bus or foot, and there are great food options nearby, of course including the attached restaurant. A great gelateria is only 3 minutes walk away.

A wonderful hotel in the city center, close to the train station. Excellent staff who are happy to help. The breakfast is wonderful and varied, not only sweets :) The staff allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out, for which I thank them very much. The room was clean and cozy. There was a kettle and tea.
Featuring a garden and a restaurant, Ristorante Albergo da Giovanni offers air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen TV.

It was veru handy for stopping en route to our final destination. There is a fantastic sushi restaurant nect door to the hotel that was open until late .
The guy at the reception didn’t speak any English but he was very friendly and managed to explain rules etc.
the only person even remotely friendly was the chef.
the only person even remotely friendly was the chef. They had very few of the listed choices on their menu. The owner was bad humoured and rude. The taxi driver charged me double the price from the airport and again on a trip to Bergamo. A radio-taxi driver was horrified to hear about this when he charged me a lot less. Buses back to Almenno from Bergamo stop at approx 7pm so if you miss that (I did twice, the first time because I didn't know the times and the second because the train was delayed coming back from Verona). If visiting Bergamo, it would be much cheaper to specify 'in Bergamo city' in your search. Northern Italy is far more money-grabbing than Rome which was an excellent place to visit. The area is absoutely worth a visit, just beware of being ripped off. (and remember to check if there is a kettle!). I offered the one I had to buy to the hotel owner (having already given them a knife, a bucket, port, unopened food etc) and he rudely said 'I don't want.' I would have thought it would be useful to them for any future guests and as I could not take it with me (baggage restrictions) I just gave it to a random stranger. There was a weird, unwelcoming feel to the hotel and I could hear a woman shouting at a man at night I found upsetting.
