The staff were really friendly and made things really easy by picking us up on arrival in Levanto and again after dinner out. The room was lovely and the bar was well stocked with more food options than we expected. But the highlight by far is the pool and the setting, I can't imagine a nicer place to go for a swim than high in the hills above the sea at sunset! Absolutely stunning.

Less than 5 minutes' walk from the beach in Bonassola, close to the station for trains around the Cinque Terre, Pensione Moderna offers a picturesque garden with exotic and Mediterranean plants.

The friendly family run hotel made us feel so welcome, we were gifted a bottle of wine for our anniversary. The room was very comfortable, it had very quiet air conditioning and a fridge but no kettle. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. The homemade cakes were especially good. Bike hire at the hotel was easy and great value.

Beautifully appointed in a very quiet location. The restaurant meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was mainly continental with a huge selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries etc. There was also scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages included in the complimentary breakfast. More than enough food to set you up for the day.
