Bellagio has the perfect location in Lake Como in order to visit other places around the lake. It is very picturesque and unique. It is much better than Como to stay during your trip since it's not a big town but rather a very beautiful village. The only problem is the road leading there, which is rather narrow, but this is the case for the whole of Lake Como. The alternative is moving around by boat.

The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great.
The restaurants and bars and narrow lanes were great. The lanes are mostly steep climbs so be fit or stop in a bar half way! Just out of town is the Alle Darsene di Loppia, very good restaurant.
Cars are generally excluded from the town centre so if you have your own car you need to make sure you can get to your accommodation. And if you have a car you need to be bold when driving, because the local Italians can fit a car through a tiny gap, at high speed, and you must do the same to get anywhere. Trust them and enjoy the ride!
The ferry trips around Lake Como were great - you can explore a lot of beautiful old towns from the ferry.

We loved Bellagio!
We loved Bellagio! we also spent a day in Varenna (via ferry) - quieter, but just as charming. Take the tour of the Melza Villa there (the interior plus gardens). Note that for all of the Villa tours, all accessible by public ferry, order your tickets well in advance because day of they will all be sold out. Bellagio and Varenna are similar in that both are built into the side of an Alp, and the "cross streets" all require navigating a hundred or more stairs. Folks who live there don't seem to notice, but in the hot sun we were sure stopping every ten stairs to rest. We just randomly picked "cute" restaurants and enjoyed every one.

Bellagio has beautiful eateries, easy to get to other towns by ferry, gorgeous part of Lake Como. Plenty to do...
Be prepared for expensive eateries, drinks, gifts, trinkets. The business owners are really upping the prices on everything including bottled water....

Bellagio is one of the most popular tourist destinations on...
Bellagio is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Lake Como, but very expensive re restaurants etc. It is a very attractive place on the lake. Very crowded in the town / tourist areas. We have very low key, energetic holidays. We hired high quality Bianchi bikes from BikeItBellagio and enjoyed some wonderful long distance riding, discovering many small attractive towns further north and around Lake Lugarno that are just as attractive, good holiday destinations, less crowded and less expensive. We self catered breakfast & dinner from excellent supermarkets and the pizzaria, but ate at some wonderful local Italian caffeterias around the lake for lunches, and met some lovely locals. Locals in Bellagio town not friendly, I suspect because they are exhausted by loud, demanding, wealthy tourists.
The hotel is nice and clean with modern interior design, close to shops and restaurants. Excellent breakfast choices with the view of Lake Como. The hotel staff is super friendly. The young lady at the front desk gave us a very nice map of Bellagio and she also recommended a couple of places for us. On our first night, we had no idea that the bathroom door can open from the top(very modern door). We though it was broken and was going to fall down. We called the hotel line, the guy came to assist within 1 minute even though it was after-hours.
Our room was wonderful. We had a beautiful balcony. The shower had a rain shower and it was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was a little feast and what a view of Lake Como from the dining room. Also has a large patio which we enjoyed sitting on one evening.. The elevator was a nice surprise. Easy after hours check in. The location was a short walk into town and very easy.. We will for sure try to come back one day and stay here again.
This hotel exceeded any expectation I had. Bellagio can be a busy hub for travelers in Lake Como but Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is an amazing getaway right on the water. You really feel like you are staying at your own villa on Lake Como. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This hotel also offers many great amenities like the spa, fitness center, and beautiful gardens. I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling to Lake Como.
Great hotel outside of the main streets of Bellagio but within walking distances. It was nice to stay out of the hustle of the main streets. The pool area was lovely but sadly it was a bit cold and windy on the night we stayed to enjoy it. Room had an amazing view of the hills and lake como. Highly recommend this accommodation. The owner was lovely and very helpful and going out of her way to warn us of train strikes the following day.
Superb 360 views of Bellagio and Lake Como, secure private property and high quality accommodation, fantastic host - super friendly, welcoming and helpful and smooth check in meeting directly with the property owner on site. Highly recommend this property. One general tip to add would be to suggest hiring a car to get in and out of town as it’s a 20-30 minute walk into town including stairs as the property is high on the hill.
The hotel is in a nice, perfect location. The area is really beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was super clean, comfortable, quite big and well equiped. There was no shutter on the windows so if you want to stay in bed for a long time without sunshine it’s worth to bring a sleepingmask with you. ;) The breakfast was super delicious. The hotel is highly recommended for a visit at Lake Como.
Best location to visit Lake Como if you choose Bellagio to stay!
Very comfortable house right in the village with free parking spots nearby. We stayed for 2 night and the house was very well prepared for it. It could even accommodate 2 more people. Very easy communication with the host. And a fair price for the accommodation type + location since it can accommodate a lot of people. We even got nice tips!
The most wonderful place to stay. The accommodation was definitely worth visiting and the host Bruno was beyond amazing and helpful as I have rarely experienced before. The room was beautiful decorated with paintings and very clean.
At the same time it was very affordable and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s visiting Bellagio at Lake Como in Italy.
This was a beautiful, private loft that felt like our own little oasis in Bellagio. Great location, with thorough instructions on how to get to local places including a private swim spot. Perfect for budget-conscious travellers wanting to do Lake Como. Klod & Andrea went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Thankyou for having us! Could not recommend enough.
The view over the Lake Como is unique. The breakfast was very good as well, with multiple choices and delicious. The interaction with the staff was great. The room was clean. Overall we enjoyed very much our stay and there is a real value for money considering the high endocation and that the hotel is rated only with 2 stars. Really recommend for a trip in Bellagio.
View was amazing. Lots of quaint shops and restaurants. The lake was gorgeous especially at sunset when the water was glistening. The ferry schedule was flexible enough to meet our needs. The express ferry back to Como was a nice option. The location of the hotel was fantastic. Right in front of the ferry station and in the middle of many shops and restaurants.
The location was more premium than we expected. The apartment is at the furthest tip of Bellagio with breathtaking views towards the east and west sides of Lake Como. The nearby area is peaceful and full of vegetation (no busy roads or hotels) even if it only takes a few minutes to walk into the bustling downtown.
The beds were comfortable and we slept great.
The service was exceptional!! We stayed in a few different spots during our Italy trip and this was by far our favourite. The staff were super accommodating and so kind! We were so impressed and couldn’t stop raving to our friends and they’ve booked their Como stay at Belvedere as well. We can’t wait to come back!
Really helpful host who met us at the property and showed us round and sorted out the parking, which is at a premium in Bellagio. Location and view from the property is fantastic - felt like we had our own bit of Lake Como including swimming from the small beach in front of the apartment.
Location is fantastic being situated right in the heart of Bellagio. The apartment was clean and very well equipped. Communication from the hosts was excellent; they provided all the information in advance and were very helpful with suggestions to make our visit to Lake Como perfect.
Quiet, spotless room with amazing views, even our bathroom had a view of lake Como! Breakfast was delicious, everything was fresh and definitely the best scrambled eggs I've had. Very peaceful location as Bellagio can be hectic, and this property feels like a retreat 😊
Villa La Rosa is perfect! beautiful location and a lovely walk into Bellagio our favourite town on Lake Como. Marco & Andrea are amazing hosts so friendly and helpful. We are definitely coming back!
