Our stay was better than expected, chiara the host was so gentile and simpatica that my daughter now wants to be married there. There are several small villages around this area.
There are several small villages around this area. We found, instead of Busseto, that Fidenza was a better spot for small boutiques and restaurants. Two days in this area is perfect. There are few type of people that must go there:
There are few type of people that must go there: 1) Fans of melodrama, "lirica" music and especially of Giuseppe Verdi. October is the right season to go there as there is the "Verdi festival" 2) Fans of Parmesan cuisine. This is the zone of "Culatello", but obviously you can find here all the PArma typical foods: cold cut (Prosciutto, Mariola, Strolghino, Fiocco, Culatta, Ciccioli, Cicciolata etc.), pasta (Tortelli, Anolini, Cappelletti, Tagliatelle etc.), cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano, il Nero), fish (Catfish). November is the perfect time to go there as there is the so called "November Porc" event lasting the four weekends in four of the villages of the zone. 3) Fans of Italy province. The nearby is very interesting as you can go from a city (Parma) to the countryside ("La bassa") that is along the river "Po". It is a very peculiar ambient, with friendly people, lot of traditions, excellent life style and culture (Parma and the province is always rated among the best cities to live in).MassimoItaly

It offers modern amenities in a site that brings its rich history to life, with its careful and tasteful renovations. One steps right into Bertolucci's movie set! The beds and furnishings are very comfortable. The hosts are experienced and gracious professionals who are attentive and welcoming, but not intrusive. The home-made breakfast is delicious.
