We went to Mantova for the literature festival and we booked very late. There wasn't a lot available at affordable prices for our dates. We didn't know quite what to expect from the Corte Virgiliano and upon arrival, we were a little worried because the Country house is practically a cow farm. When we met the owner, Nicoletta and saw our apartment we cheered up. The apartment was all newly refurbished and a bright and sunny yellow! The bedroom was nice and big with old fashioned furniture but well kept and the mattresses on the bed were new and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, all newly done and the kitchen was very cute and functional. The windows looked out on to corn fields and at night it was very quiet. The apartments are next to the main house which is in a blocked off area next to the cow farm. Every now and then, when outside you do smell cows but not in the apartment. There's plenty of parking in front of the premises and a lovely large garden with lounge chairs. It's exactly a 10 minute drive into Mantova. Nicoletta suggested a few places to eat and one in particular is very nearby where the food was excellent. I would stay here again.

The room was clean, very kind staff, the hosts offered us free coffee in the morning.
The family room with a bunk bed was a good size for our overnight stay. I wouldn’t stay for much longer as it would have been too cramped for all of us.
Staff were friendly, the breakfast was good (a big choice of both sweet and savoury foods) and the coffee very nice!
Free parking was available right in front of the hotel.
This is certainly not the prettiest hotel, but very convenient and an excellent value for money. It only takes about 5 minutes by car to reach the center of Manova. The lady at the reception was very friendly and charming.
The hotel was used by many being travellers or business people. The room for four was good size. The breakfast buffet was ok - we were relatively late and certain things not refilled.
The staff was really nice, the hotel was clean and comfortable, rooms were spacious enough with everything you might need. The bathroom was really spacious with all facilities.
