Chianni is a lovely village in Tuscany. This property is very well located within the village, is very spacious, and has its own private parking spot (a premium in this area). However, the best part of our experience was the lovely housekeeper, Roberta. Incredibly friendly and helpful, took the time to show us around and explain the arrangements. Furthermore, she gave us awesome tips that only a local would know (for example, the free tour of the historic village only on Mondays). We loved our stay and will return.

The location and coziness was great. It was a very traditional place with beautiful antique features. The location was great. The kitchen was well equipped, had an iron and a coffee machine. Roy was friendly and accommodating.

Exceptionally lovely staff. The property itself is fascinating and a wonderful place to stay. A lot of character diminished with history, simple comfort and style. A truly superb breakfast - nothing too much trouble. Excellent value and one of those stays that was better than expected
Didn’t use the pool area but it looked really good

If you visit Chianni, make sure to come by car - the bus transportation was not that trustworthy (we tried taking the early morning ride twice and it had some problems, the bus never arrived - we saw the bus from the car so it is a valid bus, it just had problems).
If you go into the nearest town, Pontedera, you can easily reach bigger cities by train - trains are great in Italy, you can go to Livorno, Pisa, Florence, etc.
In Chianni, there are some shops you can buy local foods (a mini market in the middle of the town), also some bars, bistros and restaurants, we visited the one named Le Vecchie Cantine, and although they have a short menu, the foods were incredible (try the Zuppa Toscana or the pasta with the typical Tuscan sauce). There were many options for vegetarians (I think you can even ask for vegan versions, but the Zuppa (soup) eg. is vegan in itself), and also we could eat gluten free pasta, they were really prepared. The staff was super kind too (it worth to book a table in advance when you walk by to make sure you have space, especially if you're a family of 4-5).
Chianni is a typical Tuscan town, with beautiful houses, and small streets - wear something comfy as it's a town in a hillside, you can walk around by foot without a problem but there is a bit of a level difference :)
I'd recommend to anyone, really, to families, to couples, to single travellers, it's a place worth visiting!

A very pretty, lively village with rather steep little streets. Several pubs and restaurants. Best icecream in Bar Centrale, great pizza in Anna's Bar.
Local grocery stores are tiny and a bit overprized, but supermarkets are only 20 minutes away.
Most younger villagers speak fluent English.
It is great to start the day with a cup of coffee when collecting bread in the local bakery, or to walk to the village in the night which comes to life in the late evening.
Well located to visit Volterra, Pisa, Firenze, San Gimingano...

Chianni is situated in farm/wine country.
Chianni is situated in farm/wine country. The landscape is beautiful. Many parts of Italy are accessible within a 1 hour drive. Keep in mind that Chianni is just another medieval town on the top of a hill. There are dozens of these towns throughout this region.
The staff was amazingly helpful, they helped us with ancillary activities and recommended the places to visit. Le vecchie Cantine itself is a wonderful place, in the heart of little Italian town Chianni where the time seems to stop... The room had beautiful arches and furniture seeming to date old times, but it was equipped with XXI century conveniences such as air conditioning. Perfect combination! The food was delicious and waiters helpful with making a choice from food and an extensive wine list. Fully recommend!
We felt extremely welcome the minute we first spoke with the hotelmanager. He was always very helpful and checking if everything was fine. The rest of the staff has the same attitude.
The restaurant has great dishes and offers a great variety of good wines, prosecco's and champagne's. Prices are cheap. The location is very authentic and we noticed the locals love eating over there as well (which is always a good indicator).
The hotel is a great value for money.
Managed by the owner who was present and available at all times, excellent staff, we felt like family in this hotel. It is a small facility with the charm of a small town and we met very nice and friendly town residents !!! Specially Mrs. Elizabetha who treat us like old friends and provided excellent recommendations of near towns to visit. The hotel is close to Teatro del Silenzio at Lajatico if you plan to assist to Andrea Bocelli annual concert.
A beautiful Tuscan-style house with an amazing view from the terrace and near the small old town of Chiani. A good location from which you can visit popular destinations by car, driving along the beautiful roads of Tuscany. Excellent communication with the owners, they will provide you with all the necessary information. They live nearby and are at your service for anything you need.
Perfect non commercial location ( typical tuscany village)
Very nice and helpful hosts, comfortable and fully equipped appartment ( the whole flat), with beautiful view from terrace, perfect location for trips to the most important sights ( Pisa, Volterra, Sienna, San Gimignano).
Thank you for spending beautiful Easter!
Good breakfast selection, buffet style. Typical cold style continental breakfast with Italian cakes and treats too. Excellent coffee!
Excellent evening meal at the hotel restaurant.
Outdoor pool looked good but was still a bit cold to use at the time of year we stayed. Nice room.
The house itself was great, and the apartment owner (Clara) gave us great recommendations for restaurants. Chianni was an incredible place and everyone was really kind (in the town and the restaurants too, and it was not a problem that we were not fluent in Italian either).
Roy was a great host before getting there and once I arrived. He was helpful and considerate and made himself available to answer questions. The apartment is right in the heart of Chianni and was very charming. Chianni is in a fantastic location to explore western Tuscany.
Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere, among the hills of Tuscany. Perfect if you want peace and quiet, but also with good connection to cities like Piza and Florence (40-50 min. drive). I would love to come back some day for a longer stay.
Amazing flat in Chianni. The beds we were so comfortable I overslept every day. Roberta and her lovely father were amazing hosts and helped me out when my hire car developed a problem. Roberta checked in with me and was a great host.
Nicely decorated studio apartment in the Tuscan style with most of the amenities that you would need (dish washer, washing machine etc). Property is close to the amenities in Chianni (bars, restaurants shops etc). Good size apartment.
We had a wonderful stay in Chianni. The host, Monia, was extremely helpful and nice and provided us with an extra kids bed. The apartment was extremely clean and modern. The location is great, with restaurants and small shops nearby.
