This restored 19th century villa is set on the western shores of Lake Como, 1.5 km from Cernobbio. It offers elegant rooms with parquet floors and marble bathrooms. The location is unique, the complete hotel is a piece of art, excellent maintained, and our room spacious with spectacular view and tastefully decorated. The bed is huge and very comfortable, and the bathroom spacious am spotlessly clean (the room as well). Most of all, the kindness of all the staff that is much more than politeness, left us with the best impressions. We traveled with a dog and a cat, they were very friendly with our pets, upgraded our room for more space, and took care of the pet plates. We would like to specially mention that we arrived after midnight after a huge ferry delay and long driving. They made sure that we had dinner in our room ready when we arrived after such an exhausting day and allowed us to check out later. From now on we are customers of this hotel, and looking forward to visit again. Of course Covid rules where followed and we felt very safe during our stay. Thank you!

We flew into Milan and then took the train, its a really easy trip and takes you straight into Como just by the lake. Stunning landscape, we took a boat up the lake to Bellagio which is beautiful and worth the visit. Tip the queues for the boats get huge, you can buy some tickets online, worth asking your hotel for advice. Another must is the Funicular up to Brunate, do this early to avoid queuing. Fabulous little restaurant right next to the Cathedral in Via Maestri Comacini, associated with the DBH Hotel, became our favourite spot, quieter than some of the squares and great food wine and service

Como is a must see.
Como is a must see. Perfect location to start of your adventures to see other towns along the lake. I would highly recommend buying tix in advance if you do want visit the other towns. There is a high speed boat but you can't buy the tix online. You will have to wait in line, which I would recommend getting their early. The other option I would recommend is take the bus out to Bellagio and buying you tickets for your return upon arrival to get that out of the way. There is a funicular in Como that is a great activity to do and a hike for those that want some exercise. Don't miss out on all the gelato!!

We decided to stay in Como instead of one of the other lake villages because of its access to train and bus transportation ~ and the central port for all the lake ferries. The city is easy to navigate, has lots of shops and restaurants and a great bus system that you can use to get tp the funicular up to the top of the mountain near the city or to go up to the Hilton on the hill for a spectacular view from the roof- top garden. The Bar Pizzeria da Quinto which was across the street from us made odds-on the best pizza we had in all our journey and was a fun place full of locals !

I did love how beautiful lake como was! We stayed in como lago. However it is hard to get around the lake! There are bus which we did figure out! We did order a taxi one time to go to the Villa balbionello which was $65 for 45 min drive. We took the ferry back and the ferry was 2 hours long and $16 for two people. The other day we took the bus to go to bellagio which was fine and $11 and then we had a very difficult time leaving bellagio but was finally able to call an Uber for $77. If you rent a car it looks very hard to find parking. There are a lot of mosquitos and me and my husband were hit about 4 times each in our 3 day stay. The food was excellent almost everywhere we went! I think other cities would have been nicer and more convenient to get around.

I loved my stay in Como, I was in transit to Menaggio, and the short stay was the perfect way for me to relax and get my bearings before moving on. Como is a lovely city, even when it’s rainy (which it was). I recommend exploring the side streets and alleys when searching for a restaurant as the ones on the waterfront are not authentic and extremely are overpriced. I found a fabulous little restaurant when wandering the back streets (Karma). The staff were friendly, food was excellent and moderately priced.

If you are staying in lake Como region for vacation, this is a bad location, the area is dodgy and offers nothing at walking distance. Its surrounded by constructions. If you are transiting to other places in Italy, its convenient, close to highway, but way too expensive for a stopover. I would never go back! Also, we were charged 150 EUR for an extra kid, and the staff was unfriendly and unwilling to offer better alternative solutions.

Perfect location and amazing hosts. Very near the Como lago train station and main pier where ships provide regular commute to most lake Como towns. Very spacious and clean room furnished in a classical style. Much better than staying in a simirarly priced hotels around lake Como. Although checkout is quite early at 10 in the morning, you can safely leave your luggage at the property and go exploring the city.

It must have been quite glorious in its early days and has been maintained in good condition. All original features properly preserved. Breakfast was also great and hotel staff very helpful.
