The walk from the San Pellegrino pass to rifugio fuciada is fantastic as it is pretty flat, not too far (8 km round trip approx) and can be done with snow boots even in Dec/Jan. The scenery of the mountains and warm atmosphere, drinks and food of the rifugio make it an fabulous winter walk. Busses are available from Moena to the pass.

Moena is fantastic place in the beautiful Dolomites - it is not on the doorstep of the skiing resorts, but a short transfer (15min) will take you to the most common ones - San Pellegrino area being our favourite. While not being on the doorstep of skiing, it has the advantage that you can try out different areas, all with different characteristics.

The city is surrounded by beautiful nature and allows for so many activities. In the evening there are plenty of restaurants from affordable to expensive. We tried both and never got disappointed. Close to Moena are fantastic slopes (San Pellegrino, Carezza, Canizei - starting point of Sellaronda). Parking without any problems.
