The location, the comfortable bed, the quality of the sheets, the pillows and pretty much everything. The staff are super nice and really take care of you. Montalcino is a quiet hill town that we love returning to often. We love walking all around town. A 4 hour hike gets you to Sant' Antimo Abbey and then you can take the bus back to town. We love eating at Il Moro and at Osteria di Porta al Cassero as well as Re di Macchia. Great town at the winter holidays!

We stayed in Montalcino two nights, which was about right for people who like wine but aren’t fanatics. Drove all over, got lost, went to Montepulciano (very crowded, steep and hard to get to—was very glad we stayed in Montalcino instead!) enjoyed the Abbey de Sant Altimo south of town, not overrun by people.

a wonderful town for wine & food lovers. you can drink excellent wines for far less than they cost in the States. we also found excellent restaurants. the ambiance is really nice here. in particular there is an enoteca with over 100 wines by the glass or taste and will ship the wines to you that you would like to buy. we easily found 3 cases to send home with free shipping!

If you wish to visit Tuscany, Montalcino is the ideal place to stay. It's a lovely, attractive village with plenty of places to eat and drink. This region also has a lot of good restaurants. It is nevertheless quite close to other important towns and sites that are far more touristic, so I would recommend this area if you want to have a lot of options without being in the most touristic and busy locations around.

Fantastic little town. Some great restaurants. Right in the best wine area in Italy. You will love it! Re di Macchia Restorante was so good. The best Florentine steak we ever had. Good prices and the owner Antonio gave us round after round of free Limincello and grappa. He is the best!!!!

Don't worry about the relatively few reviews - this was the highlight of my month in Italy. - Beautiful 2-bed cottage on a small olive tree orchard overlooking Montalcino - Cosy, fully furnished with big TV, wifi, modern bathroom - had absolutely everything you'd ever need - Safe free parking onsite, and an easy 5-10 min walk to town - Stunning views across the valley - Quiet and peaceful This felt like a home away from home, and the perfect base for exploring Tuscany. I can't wait to come back, thank you Elizabetta!

Location is excellent. Hospitality is highly pro - gentility and thoughtfulness towards guest needs. The hotel owners and staff are attentive, discreet/low-keyed, and welcoming. I had small single room with 140cm bed - very comfortable bedding, quiet, classic Tuscan deco (quality), well-appointed small bathroom (shower/bidet/sink/wc) with window. Breakfast room - beautiful views from large bay windows.

Good location. Old building maintained well and kept in the classic style..which is good. Had everything I needed. Clean and comfortable. A/C worked. Owners kind and helpful. The hotel restaurant ( dinner only) is very good. Good wine selection. They parked my car for $5.00! I enjoyed my stay. I slept in so I missed breakfast. Can’t comment.

The staff here were the friendliest out of any place we stayed in Italy. The property was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was also delicious! The only negative I have is that I thought it was in Montalcino due to the address, but we had to drive 15 min to get to the square.

The hotel is surrounded by greenery and wine yards, that’s what I wanted for this trip in Toscana with a fantastic view looking over the valley. It’s respectively small property, few guests, the perfect getaway from chaos of the city and people.
