The location, the comfortable bed, the quality of the sheets, the pillows and pretty much everything.
The staff are super nice and really take care of you. I love the fact that they had a restaurant below with an amazing wine list, and the views are to die for. Breakfast was full of lots of cakes and other alternatives. A family owned property and relaxing environment.

Montalcino is a quiet hill town that we love returning to often. We love walking all around town. A 4 hour hike gets you to Sant' Antimo Abbey and then you can take the bus back to town. We love eating at Il Moro and at Osteria di Porta al Cassero as well as Re di Macchia. Great town at the winter holidays!

We stayed in Montalcino two nights, which was about right for people who like wine but aren’t fanatics. Drove all over, got lost, went to Montepulciano (very crowded, steep and hard to get to—was very glad we stayed in Montalcino instead!) enjoyed the Abbey de Sant Altimo south of town, not overrun by people.

If you wish to visit Tuscany, Montalcino is the ideal place to stay. It's a lovely, attractive village with plenty of places to eat and drink. This region also has a lot of good restaurants. It is nevertheless quite close to other important towns and sites that are far more touristic, so I would recommend this area if you want to have a lot of options without being in the most touristic and busy locations around.

Fantastic little town. Some great restaurants.
Fantastic little town. Some great restaurants. Right in the best wine area in Italy. You will love it! Re di Macchia Restorante was so good. The best Florentine steak we ever had. Good prices and the owner Antonio gave us round after round of free Limincello and grappa. He is the best!!!!
Don't worry about the relatively few reviews - this was the highlight of my month in Italy.
- Beautiful 2-bed cottage on a small olive tree orchard overlooking Montalcino
- Cosy, fully furnished with big TV, wifi, modern bathroom - had absolutely everything you'd ever need
- Safe free parking onsite, and an easy 5-10 min walk to town
- Stunning views across the valley
- Quiet and peaceful
This felt like a home away from home, and the perfect base for exploring Tuscany. I can't wait to come back, thank you Elizabetta!
Location is excellent. Hospitality is highly pro - gentility and thoughtfulness towards guest needs. The hotel owners and staff are attentive, discreet/low-keyed, and welcoming. I had small single room with 140cm bed - very comfortable bedding, quiet, classic Tuscan deco (quality), well-appointed small bathroom (shower/bidet/sink/wc) with window. Breakfast room - beautiful views from large bay windows.
Good location.
Old building maintained well and kept in the classic style..which is good. Had everything I needed.
Clean and comfortable. A/C worked.
Owners kind and helpful.
The hotel restaurant ( dinner only) is very good. Good wine selection.
They parked my car for $5.00!
I enjoyed my stay. I slept in so I missed breakfast. Can’t comment.
The property was immaculately presented and the staff were incredible. The restaurant was a delight and the positioning was perfect for travel to Montalcino proper and the surrounding vineyards. The views from the rooms were to die for and very well appointed. best hotel I have stayed in. 10/10. Will definitely be returning.
Charming and very picturesque property delivers everything you could want in a Tuscan stay. The views are incredible, and the Staff are all genuine and lovely. Small touches made us feel right at home. The Neal we had in town was one of our favorites in Italy … ever. Truly memorable and we highly recommend a stay here.
The staff here were the friendliest out of any place we stayed in Italy. The property was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was also delicious! The only negative I have is that I thought it was in Montalcino due to the address, but we had to drive 15 min to get to the square.
This is an absolutely charming place not far from the town of Montalcino. Great starting point for wine yours. The hosts are super friendly and attentive to all your needs. unbelievable breakfast, very clean and completely renovated. like a swanky boutique hotel but in the Tuscan Countryside.
What a gem! Montalcino is a wonderful little town that provides an escape from the crowds. Locanda Franci makes you feel at home in the small town. Great location, very friendly staff, and a restaurant that’s probably not far from a Michelin star!
The hotel is surrounded by greenery and wine yards, that’s what I wanted for this trip in Toscana with a fantastic view looking over the valley.
It’s respectively small property, few guests, the perfect getaway from chaos of the city and people.
We had a great time at beautiful hotel of Sara and Michele. Nicely decorated room and great location just one minute away from one of the best restaurants of Montalcino. The homemade breakfast was delicious. We can’t wait to visit again!
Great Hotel in the centre of town although the accommodation is part of the main hotel 50mts down the road, you have to leave your accommodation to attend breakfast
the breakfast was very good
Good located accommodation near Montalcino, the winery is beautiful including the italian cedar tree entrance :)
They offer a rich breakfast buffet with jams, salamis cuts, etc.
