This was my third stay at Hotel Fortebraccio in Montone, and I had asked for a room with a view - as I know this beautiful little village very well and it is always a joy to return, even in the winter. I was given a lovely corner room on the second floor with views down to the valley and over some of the houses in the village. The room was scrupulously clean and well-appointed, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean. Heating very good. The staff - on both my arrival and departure - were very friendly and kind. I can speak Italian; however, they were happy to speak English to me. I cannot write about the breakfast or meals because I have never eaten there; I like to walk up to the village and have a cappuccino and cornetto in Caffe Aries in the square. However, other reviews give an account of the bar and restaurant. I will, happily, return.

I stayed with my 11 year old daughter and it was our first trip without the rest of the family so I was a little nervous. The staff were incredibly friendly and lovely with my daughter. The breakfast was excellent, all served to your table and made to order. The pastries and cakes were lovely. The location is great, right in the heart of this beautiful village. We didn't stay long in our room or eat in the restaurant, but have heard good reviews from friends who live there. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful location, lovely room with outdoor area, good bathroom and spacious. Pool was lovely - though more for plunge than a swim. luckily was very quiet so we had it to ourselves. Could be unusable if place was busy. Host and breakfast delightful.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in
Stunning view over the valley (this means of course that you have to drive up a mountain road, which is slightly tricky but ok)
Gluten-free and vegan breakfast options
Very friendly and accommodating staff. We will definitely come back again

We have been to Montone twice now after falling in love with the medieval town. It’s worth a visit for a day trip- it’s a jewel of a hilltop medieval town with cobbled streets and 360 views of the countryside. The best part about it is the food - fantastic restaurant on the piazza which also has a bar that serves pizza and piadina (recommend mozzarella/tomato/ruccola for a satisfying lunch). All the restaurants have great Umbrian wines (Montefalco Sagrantino Trebbiano Grechetto). On the other side of town is Erba Luna which serves fine dining at good prices. It’s unique in being situated within the fortified walls which is a great experience. If you want views Erba Luna has a terrace or Verziere is also good. Last but not least Locanda is truly excellent - a Michelin star restaurant serving Umbrian cuisine and staff creating a very welcoming atmosphere. They have a second menu (Tipico) which has more humble food which is also excellent.
This is a lovely little apartment close to the main square in Montone, but in a quiet location. It is a perfect size for a couple, with modern amenities carefully selected, a lovely comfortable bed and a large modern bathroom. Its outdoor space is also lovely - with a small terrace, a table and two chairs, facing the west and, thus, a nice place to sit as dusk falls and contemplate the sweetness of this little village. Matteo also does a great job of explaining everything in the apartment, and making a guest (or guests) feel welcome.
Beautifully restored and tastefully presented. Bathroom and kitchen excellent condition in a contemporary Italian style. Comfortable bed with white bed linen. Sun is on the balcony in the afternoon. I haven’t found any in this area to this standard. I was pleasantly surprised by the buzzyness of village life. It’s all happening in the main square. It looks exactly like the photos when I booked.
This was our second stay @Caicucci and as last time - we had a great time, quite relaxed and quit, nice weather, nice evironment, e.g. for mountain bikes and hiking activities, perfect for stressed people. The great pool - which is shared - provides enough opportunities to cool down, and Montone & Umbertide has a series of nice restaurants, while the medivial town of Montone is outstanding.
Gorgeous, comfortable, modern and well-equipped apartment in the heart of beautiful Montone. Church bells, lovely people, restaurants and daily routines of Italian life. Loved having breakfast on the balcony as sun rose, and aperitivo by the open windows as the sun set over the mountains.
Very nice house with beautiful garden and large pool. House is located near small, old, lovely town of Montone with fantastic restaurants. Great place for family vacation. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast good. Lovely location in beautiful Montone. Wonderful restaurants in the town. Lovely museum. Great for exploring that part of Umbria and le Marche / Urbino….. easy access to main highway
