I booked this "Flowers" room with ensuite bathroom for my friends as the small village house me and partner have just bought round the corner here in this very quiet mountain village of Morcone was too small to accommodate everyone for our family reunion this winter season. The owners have converted an old village house using a modern design while keeping some of the great unique features - like the stone walls along the staircase. The Flower room was spacious, spotless, warm and really comfortable. Most the village is accessed on foot only so be ready for some steps and narrow lanes (curb-side parking is 150m away). It's what makes the stay special and stress-free.

The host, Gianni met us in the local piazza and accompanied us to our home. The reason we chose this house is because it is in the same village where my husband's cousins live. This home was freshly renovated in impeccable design. The host also surprised us with an abundance of products from his farm, including; peppers, marmalade, spices, and more.

Morcone is situated 600m + above sea level and is less than half an hour away from some stunning places in the Matese Mountain range and the Altilia Archeologica site near Sepino.
The village itself is super - we've just bought a house here as it's very quiet and calm with that genuine touch away from the crowds of other more well-known places in Campania.
Once a year, there's an incredible re-enactment of the Nativity scene with the villagers all participating to recreate Bethlehem, the local trades and the story of the birth of Jesus.
In summer, it's very cool and green!
Be sure to have good walking shoes, most the historical part of the village is car-free and so pedestrian with steps up and down.
A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern city life and taste some divine food.
