There were a few different people on reception. One guy was very helpful in arranging a taxi pick-up. No cooked breakfast, but there was some variety from day to day. Freshly squeezed juice if you asked. Fridge in the room. Comfy beds. Close to lots of interesting places. Convenient for the airport bus.

We picked this hotel because of the free off street parking (which is a MUST in Palermo if you arrive by car). The hotel itself was nicer than expected although it is a place where a lot of groups come (there was a huge group of students there while we were). The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff were all very helpful. The hotel is close enough to walk to all of the key attractions in Palermo.
Just outside the city centre, San Paolo Palace overlooks the Gulf of Palermo. This 4-star hotel offers 2 restaurants, and a panoramic roof-top terrace with swimming pool and fitness centre.

A Symbol of Sicily
Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and opposite is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archaeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, a crossroads with a fountain at each corner.
Other attractions include round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodation.
I thought Palermo was unloved and uncared for. The pavements are broken so you can’t walk on them. The roads potholes everywhere. The people were miserable, disinterested in politeness. Felt unsafe walking in the evening as many young people in groups on scooters riding precariously. The food we tried was low standard for the price, ( touristy). Taxi’s very expensive 30-40 Euro for a 10-20 min journey.

At first, it was a great shock entering the city.
At first, it was a great shock entering the city. So dirty, full of garbage and food waste in the streets. We saw people sleeping on the mattress in front of the church. Nobody cleans after dogs, and even after horses that take tourists for a ride in a carriage.
For dining, we took a wrong turn from the central squre and went down Via Vittorio Emmanuelle in direction of the sea. Wich was a mistake. Lot of fast food eateries, offering more or less same bad menu.
Next 2 days we discovered there are good restaurants (like Salina on Via Maqueda) offering fresh fish, sea shels, shrimps and lobsters. And even street food dining can be a treat (like in Ciurma, again on Via Maqueda). Slowly we started appreciating the charm of the city and it's inhabitants. We had a good time after all.

It was a great stay and I'm happy that I did so.
It was a great stay and I'm happy that I did so. I stayed for one week.
It was pretty. Beautiful buildings. Great food.
But it was also very dirty, it often smelled bad, sightings like the Vucciria or the markets looked much nicer in the promotion pictures, there was no real promenade and I expected the downtown area to be much bigger and to offer more things to do and to see tbh.
Funny side "story":
Got chatted up five times by Italian men, everytime asking me, if I would know where the next Tabacco Shop would be. No matter what you answer they immediately introduce themselves to you with name, age, profession, asking you, where you come from and no matter what you say, they have been there or plan to go there, next month, this year, next year. They all said that it's "good luck" or "common" or "just polite" to ask you for your number or invite you for drinks or dinner. FIVE TIMES, SAME CONVERSATION! At least three wearing wedding rings.
Maybe there's a podcast with the newest trick to chat up women they all follow 😄

A city of friendly people, beautiful, but often run down, historical architecture, many dining options, crazy drivers, lively night life, graffiti and litter (sadly both everywhere).
Well worth a visit. Handy base for doing trips to other places of interest like Cefalu.

Great architecture and food.
Great architecture and food. Mondello beach is fabulous and monte pellogrino is a fun climb. The buses are awful or don’t seem to exist except for the 101/2/4, the 806 to mondello, and the 812 to monte pellogrino - trying to cross the city east/west is seemingly impossible by bus!

There is so much history and beautiful architecture in Palermo and you would need to stay a long time to visit every Church,Museum and tourist site.Generally the local people are very helpful and warm.Like any big city there is a litter problem and quite a lot of grafitti but the beauty of everything else makes up for those issues I think. The public transport is good allowing visits to other parts of the island easy without a car for example Mondello Beach,Cefalu,Monreale just for starters. This is my fourth trip to Sicily and it will not be my last. Was lucky to get tickets for the opera which was beautiful.
The location is fantastic, the hosts were incredibly helpful and the place is absolutely spotless and more like a boutique hotel stay than an air bnb.
Carpe Diem is brand new and the decor has been done tastefully, with high quality and attention to detail.
We have travelled extensively and this is a true find- the best bnb we have ever stayed at.
Ariana took our breakfast requests in advance and showed up with warm croissants and homemade cappuccino each morning along with fruit, yogurt, juices and more! An absolutely outstanding stay!
Airy, spacious and well-equipped apartment on the 7th floor of an apartment block overlooking the Vergina Maria beach.
Private parking space in gated area.
Convenient base for visiting Palermo, Mondello beach (both about 15 mins by car) and NW Sicily by car as a whole.
Our host Francesco was friendly and helpful with suggestions for restaurants. There is a first-class fish restaurant called Mattanza just over the road - book to get a table with a sea view.
This place is so we'll decked out, had that classic rustic Mediterranean charm in the heart of Palermo. Tiziana was the most hospitable host on my journey and went well out of her way to ensure my stay was as comfortable and pleasant for my stay in Sicily. The room was spacious and clean and was centrally located with easy walking access to shops and restaurants. Tiziana's recommendations for Palermo were perfect for places to go and where to eat.
very spacious three bedrooms and three bathrooms apartment unit. The host family is so considerate. They helped us to find parking garage and provided us with city map with all sightseeings and markets marked. also shared the good local restaurants with us within walking distance and even gave us discount coupon for a seafood restaurant which offered the best cuisine we have ever had in our entire Sicily trip.
We loved everything about the place. First of all, Kathy is an amazing person! She was warm and welcoming, her breakfasts were amazing. She gave us suggestions for food and sightseeing. The whole place was very stylish, clean and so comfortable. Walking distance from the historic centre. The best place we stayed in Sicily. If I went back to Palermo, I would stay there again without second thoughts!
Great location, close to good restaurants and shops. The host was wonderful and met us at the property. We liked Palermo best out of all the cities we visited in Italy. The weather is perfect in Sicily, nice and hot during the day and cooler at night. The best wine! The best place for an authentic Italian experience! More people should visit this beautiful place.
Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect. Very clean, comfortable cozy beds, and a beautiful, charming aesthetic. Very well appointed, recommendations for food and drink, and plenty of info on Sicily. Serena and the rest of the staff here were very warm and attentive, and the breakfast is incredible. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Palermo if I returned.
The hotel staff were friendly, efficient and always wanting to help us. Thank you to all: reception, cleaners and restaurant staff,, and also to Angelo the driver, who kindly picked us up from the airport in the middle of a thunderstorm. . We had a fantastic five days, and look forward to out next trip to Sicily.
The hotel was a first class experience from the moment you stepped in the lobby. The design was very classy and the staff so friendly.
I strongly recommend Lumia Restaurant. Food was outstanding as you'd expect that from a 6 star facility. Definitely pleased to have stayed at Casa Nostra Boutique in Palermo.
Perfect location. Tiny little apartment. Close to all the famous things in Palermo. Easy to get there from the airport. The best area to stay in Palermo. The hosts (Jimmy) were very nice and friendly, they give us lot of useful advices. The apartment is clean, big enough and had everything what is needed.
Palco Rooms is a boutique hotel within the historical heart of Palermo. The room we had was very well appointed with attention to decor. It's particularly suited to a holiday or short break rather than a place to work from during a business trip. The optional breakfast is good.
Dynamite hotel in a fantastic location with great views of the sea, the port, the city, the mountains. The pool, the food, the service was all top quality! My wife tells me we have to go back! Most luxurious hotel in Palermo, maybe all of Sicily. Wow.
I loved everything, from the room to the very helpful staff. A lovely lady gave me and a friend a great stay at a very great room in Sicily. I loved everything. I loved my stay and if I go back to beautiful Palermo I would stay there again. Amore!
Georgia is the kindest host you’ll ever meet. She spent an hour planing my itinerary in Sicily for me.
Apartment is immaculate.
Located in an upscale part of Palermo, near great restaurants, a supermarket, and a 3 min walk from the airport bus.
one of the best hotels we have stayed during our visit of Sicily. Housed in a historic building, it is centrally located. We got a room upgrade. Davide and Matteo and everyone else are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Toni is a perfect and helpful Host. Communication before our arrival was perfect, He gave us many information where to go in Sicily after leaving Palermo. The apartment has very beautiful view on the cathedral. Comfy bed. Good price.
The location was great - a walking distance to Palermo's main tourist attractions. The breakfast was rich and served on a lovely terrasse. The host was very open and gave us a lot of information about Palermo and Sicily in general.
the property is extremely clean, stylish and has all the amenities you wish for. the host was very helpful and gave us all the required information. definitely one of the best stays I had in Palermo and Sicily in general.
