We absolutely loved the view - you can see the whole valley with a castle on top, below you is an olive orchard and you can hear bells of grazing cattle.

Location is great for exploring Cilento, as well as the coast. In about 25 minutes by car you can reach Paestum and local beaches.
The village of Rutino is about 1,5 km away - we walked there twice to see a local festival.

This is a truly wonderful place to stay. The castle has been restored to create an event venue with a few exceptional accommodation suites. The views up and down the coast are amazing. The restaurant Bistrot di SanSeverino served a delightful dinner of absolutely first class quality. The whole operation seems to be very well managed and there are plentiful staff who are unfailingly helpful and charming. Everything is done to the highest standards.
