This is a great location amidst the hills and abandoned olive plantations. Safe, clean, and quiet. Fantastic for nature lovers: woods, small creeks, and waterfalls. The only limitation - you have to get there by car. Going to Florence: a 10-11 min car ride to the railway station (free safe parking space available two steps away from the station) and a 10-12 minutes train ride (1,6 euro one way) - and you are in the very heart of Florence - Santa Maria Novella.
Mari Rosa is a gem of the house - she is a fantastic host, among the best I met through 40 years of travel.
Offering inner courtyard views, Casa Mozza vicino Firenze is an accommodation located in Sesto Fiorentino, 10 km from Santa Maria Novella and 10 km from Strozzi Palace.
Just 200 metres from Accademia Gallery, Le Due Fontane is a 3-star hotel offering air-conditioned from 1st of july to1st of oct., rooms with free WiFi.
Just around the corner from Santa Maria Novella Church and the train station, Florence's Hotel Croce di Malta is a former convent featuring a lovely inner garden with swimming pool.

The location was great for us as we were doing some excursions that involved going to the train station (Santa Novella), which was only about 8 minutes away. It was also close to main attraction and had good restaurants nearby. Osteria Pastella along the road was amazing, but you must book before you get there! The hotel has been modernised, big rooms and has a great pool and provide a great breakfast

Sesto is in a strategic location, whether you want to visit Florence (reachable by bus or short driving distance) or drive to other landmark cities (Rome, Venice, Milan) getting on the nearest highway entrance, just a few hundred meters away. Sesto itself offers lots of restaurants and supermarkets for every daily need.

The reception area of the hotel is quite impressive as is the decor in the restaurant - definitely four-star - but the rest of the hotel is not. Almost everything is dated and could very well have been as it was 30 years ago. It should be downgraded to at least a three star, I wonder who assigns these ratings. Location is good for traIvellers driving their own vehicles or coming on package tours but not for those coming on public transport.
we felt at home as soon as we arrived. the house is beautiful and recently renovated. the rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. excellent place to visit the area of Firenze without being in the caos of the city center. it’s also a good place if you are driving through italy and you want to stop for a night as it’s close to an exit of the main highway and yet in a quite place.
Same menu every day for breakfast, its boring. They should have some change. Room size was okay but not enough for 3 person. Public transport is not good to travel to this facility. Its good for people having own car, would not recommend for people traveling with public transport. Hotel should arrange shuttle service to nearest train station.
The staff was polite. It was noticeable that the hotel is trying to improve itself by refurbishing some areas. The room was fairly clean. The restaurant was decent. The breakfast included self-serve coffee and lots of pastries, but the "hot" food items didn't look super appetizing.
Nothing- they canceled our reservation and still charged us. The hotel charged us at the time of reservation
Then they cancelled the reservation due to on payment but I was charged on my CC. Then I received an email today that I was a No Show!!! What???!!!!
Advertises restaurant which is never open. No maintenance person when toilet overflowed. Bus a long walk so you are marooned without a car or restaurant nearby. Cab fare horrendous from hotel to anywhere. Never again
The staff were amazing, the location was great if someone travelled by car, and it's great to return to a quiet, charming hotel that's in the middle of an English Garden after the hustle and bustle of Florence.
the gardens were nice and the history of the property was great. the beds were average. you need to like hard beds. the location is ideal. a market was in Centro when we were there and area for food is great.
Very nice hotel. Excellent trained staff. The restaurant served creative dishes that were delicious. They had an excellent wine selection reasonably priced.
