Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails.
A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles.
Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early.
We were there during early July. Low season and ski season are probably different in interesting ways.

Its ok if you just need a place to crash in between a long trip... But nothing more.
The hotel is literally a parking lot on steroids. But still, a freaking parking lot for caravans. The food was really bad and worst the waiters. If you book the room with the dinner included you just lost yourself 35bucks.
Over all the spa was good enough. Some of the treatments were closed due to issues with the corona virus. But in general well designed and relaxing. Of course there were little or no people because of the virus fear. which make it all better for us as we had the pool for ourself.

We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us.
We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us. To get to the highest peaks requires some stamina and some technique (via feratta). The flowers in July are superb. There are many mountain biking routes in the area but we didn’t partake.

Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction.
Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction. Accommodations and great restaurants are abundant and so many trails. A quick trip to Austria is just an hour or two away. True, the locals are not as warm and fuzzy as those effusive Italians we met in Pisa, Florence, Arezzo, or Piesa de Preciano (5 new FB friends!!!!) but you just can't beat the Dolomiti for sheer beauty! And it's COOLER.
Hotel is a hidden gem. Very nice secluded location on the pass right before Sesto, sorounded with mountains, very romantic and very scernic.
Hotel is a very good four star hotel, very clean, trooms are comfortable, bathrooms are big, bright and very clean.
There is quite big wellness wuith a beautiful pool, jaccuzzi and different saunas.
Breakfast is superb and dinner beyond everything.
And they have very good and professional staff.
We will definitely come again, we just hope, they will have the same chef also next year:-)
Hotel Gruber is one of the best accommodations, maybe the very best, that I have ever been to. Absolutely perfect service: food, drink, transport to the slopes, wellness, incredibly nice staff, cleanliness, professionalism. And the most important thing for me... It's a family hotel, I know who I'm giving my money to and what I'm getting for it. The services correspond to a far higher category of hotel. Amazing family! In short, a perfect vacation.

All the facilities were top class. State of the art spa, the indoor/outdoor pool was absolutely amazing. There is so much to choose from to do at this hotel, it feels like a 5 star resort. Staff were extra helpful when asked for directions on the bus line and shuttle. I highly recommend staying here, the views and location are unbeatable
A very good location for the price. Includes kitchen, which is very valuable. Has a nice balcony with chairs to sit and enjoy the amazing view on the dolomites. Positioned well for hiking and conferences in Sexten itself. Get a free bus ticket to reach local hiking spots. Very good breakfast (but we had to pay extra for it).
It was the best hotel we've ever been to! The staff is amazing! There are no words that can describe the experience we had. The dream room, the spa, the food, the warmth and the love. We are sure to return for another perfect vacation, thank you for an unforgettable and perfect experience
We fell in love with everything in this place. From the room (incredible view!!) to the spa, the numerous activities, the amazing food served, the fantastic and warm staff, the kindness of the owner Alex. It was my best experience so far. I cannot recommend it enough. Well done Hotel Monika!
This is the best place to stay when visiting the Dolomites. We were amazed by our bungalow we stayed in and the views the park offered. I would and plan to return. We loved the spa and facilities. The restaurants on the site were awesome as well. They were super pet as well.
Wonderful hotel ... the room was nice and clean even nicer than on pictures... the staff very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, even the vegetarian menus are delicious and varied. The only thing is, dinner could be served as early as 6 p.m.
Highly recommended.
Spacious and comfortable rooms, friendly and welcoming hosts and the location and view is simply stunning. Easy access to Sesto village which has excellent shops and restaurants, and many walks through the valley or forests.
The hotel is right in the center of Sesto. The room was very clean and overall confortable (although a little small). The bathroom was big enough and clean. The breakfast was good with a mix of sweet and salty buffet.
We booked an apartment and most days we cooked our own breakfast. We ate 2 breakfasts at the main Hotel and enjoyed both. Friendly waiters and waitresses. Plenty of choices. Hard not to over eat.
We have been several times in hotel Monika and it was excellent as always. Our personal favourites are: outside pool, great food (breakfast, afternoon snack and dinner), underground garage, ...
The swimming pool and gorgeous view from our room.
A pet friendly hotel with special care and welcome for our little friends.
Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is 600 meters close to the slope. Good cookies for breakfast. Family room spacious and clean. Free sauna and hydro. Nice pub Mühle on the other side of the road
Our apartment had a stunning view that knocked us off our feet. It was beautiful and comfy apartment with everything we needed in the heart of the dolomites.
