Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity.
Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity. However, if you are looking for an authentic Japanese exeprience, you are not going to find it in Hakuba. There are a lot of foreigners and many of the establishment workers are foreigners as well.

The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One...
The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One are somewhat confusing but it seems that there are more buses than on the timetables so that is a bonus. Many lifts start at 8am, so ideally one would have breakfast at 6:30 so one could get an early bus, but may be a challenge finding accommodation that does this.

It’s a ski and snow lover paradise.
It’s a ski and snow lover paradise. A small town with not so much city vibe, but best for snow or ski experience. It’s the idyllic charm that stands out for me. Everything u need for snow and ski experience is available there, for rent or to buy.

Snow was great, the town was very cute.
Snow was great, the town was very cute. Most of all, it wasn't that busy and lift have good space. Plenty of slops to choose from, and great restaurants, shops to go around after ski. Especially onsen was one of the great thing to add after the ski!

Hakuba is great and very welcoming.
Hakuba is great and very welcoming. The people and food are amazing. The skiing was great given the snow levels were lower than normal. The only thing to keep in mind is the bus service, while convenient can get crowded and does not run as much as it maybe should. A car would definitely be a great asset to have.
Anise Garden is a lovely place to stay. The owner, Nanjo, was very kind, friendly and welcoming. He let us know where all the Snow resorts were located and always there to help us. Rooms were cleaned regularly and always warm even in the Winter cold. The accommodation is also well located (6 minute drive to Happo One and 9 minute drive to Goryu & 47). Echoland is also a walkable distance and a very quick drive. There is also a very nice private indoor and outdoor onsen on the property to enjoy after a long day of snowboarding.
Loved being able to cook our own meals and having the extra space to spread out all our gear. Having a washing machine for the week while at the snow was wonderful. Facilities weren’t the most modern, but it was clean, worked and was kept well. Vouchers for onsen were great. Buses stopped at nearby Mominoki or Tokyo hotel and it was a short walk to Kokusai chairlift for Happo One ski area. Good coffee and rental/gear at Rhythm nearby. Favourite dinner location was a little diner run by an elderly couple - Hakuba70.
The lodge is one of our favorite places in Hakuba.
even though the facility is not new it has everything for our needs. Separate bedroom for adults, bunk beds for kids, kitchen with seating area, bathroom, and a very clever made dry room for skiers.
The location is perfect for skiers. It is close to the ski rental, Pub, and chair lift ( 7 min walking distance to the chair lifts).
as guest of the lodge you get coupons to use the Onsen at the hotel next door, which is a great place for Onsen lovers.
Our hosts, Takao and Naoko were an absolute delight. Takao picked/dropped us off to the Train Station. Hotel Soyokaze is located just off Main St in Echoland and so close to the ski hire, ski bus stops and the convenience store.
Takao would also make dinner bookings for us-we really enjoyed Isakaya Hie. Excellent washing and drying facilities available.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hakuba, but our hosts made it such a memorable holiday.
Friendly staff that are willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are newly renovated and clean. Free coffee station available in the common area. Short walk to the ski resort shuttle bus stop. Short walk to Echo Land where there are several restaurants, rental equipment stores etc. We have stayed in many places in Hakuba over the last few years, and this was certainly one of the best in terms of value for money and room furnishings.
I Loved Starlight Azumi but enjoyed the experience provided by the Japanese family who hosts and owns Starlight Azumi, a real sense of living in the snowy area of Hakuba, with family photos displayed throughout, you definitely get a feel of a genuinely cozy family run pension.
I loved it and stayed for 10 nights with plans to return next year,
Very reasonably priced and very central. You could very easily walk to Happo One.
Great hotel.
Staff are friendly and professional, room was a typical Japanese room on tatami… no chair so everything is on the floor so need to be mobile enough.
Japanese breakfast was great and sustained me for most of the day.
Onsen was great after a day of skiing…
On top of it, location is great, close to lift and/or shuttle bus.
Overall would definitely recommend the Hakuba Glad Inn Ebisuya.
The location was perfect to access Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba47 parks. Many restaurants to pick from for dinner in the area.
Lodge facilities were terrific and great spaces to just chill after a day of snowboarding. Easy walking access to Hakuba Goryu ski area.
Lesley went above and beyond during out stay to make us feel welcome and enjoy our time. Made it feel like we were staying with a friend.
Sejour Mint was by far the most hospitable and welcoming hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were all the loveliest people and were really accommodating to any needs. They also provided help for dietary requirements and were very thoughtful. The location is also perfectly situated next to Goryu ski resort. The rooms were also cozy and homey. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody.
Great hotel - the staff went above and beyond to help with restaurant recommendations and bookings, the outside onsen was amazing and the breakfast was also very good. We got a big room, which was great to have extra space for after skiing. The property was in a great location for skiing in Hakuba Goryu, which had the best snow of all the resorts when we were there.
Very pleasant experience staying at Takumi san’s house. They offer pick up service at bus stations and ski resorts. There is a free snacks bar with different wines and juice. We also had a free sushi dinner at first night. We really like the room, clean and sweet, also enjoy the Japanese bathtub after back from skateboarding. You will love the Takumi family!
- The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. They picked me up even late in the evening. A very helpful service
- The hotel staff also is very kind to drop me and other travelers to the ski resort
- The in hotel public bath is specious and great to relax
- I am staying at the bunk bed and I even get an extra space for storage. Very thoughtful of the hotel
The location is quite convenient. Walking distance to the busy area where we can find restaurants and bars.
The room has decent size, and we love the Japanese style room.
The onsen - both indoor and outdoor, is quite nice. We were able to relax after a day of snowboarding.
You can also get discount ticket for several nearby ski resorts.
Really nice and cozy place to stay. Koki is very nice and friendly and will always try to answer our queries. Also love their private bath after a day of snowboarding.
Morning and evening shuttle bus between hakuba goryu ski resort and Il Bosco, makes the it easier to get to and back from ski resort (otherwise it will be a 15mins walk).
Friendly and accommodating host Yoko. She gave me a thorough intro to Hakuba and let me know the key places I should visit in my short stay. Has all the facilities you need for a ski trip including a drying room. Had the best sleep. Can cook and use kitchen. Walk down the hill and you’re already at the lifts to Happo One!
The chair lift at Sakru 2 is just 30 away from the hotel. It is rather convenient to access Happo one. However you would need to buy the ski ticket in advance at the ticket office because the chair lift station did not provide sales of ski passes. Use the short cut via Petit hotel shitaka for faster access to chair lift.
the hotel had free shuttle buses to ski resorts and hakuba bus station. it was very well organised and super easy to get access to all the mountains. we also loved the Onsen which is free for all guests. we hired ski equipment from them too, good prices and good quality products. the staff were super helpful!
The staff were all incredibly accommodating and helpful. The breakfast, location, snowboard storage, and onsen bath were great too. You can skip lines at the resort by purchasing lift tickets from the hotel, and the Nakiyama lift of Happo One is very close (3-5 minute walk).
Super clean, warm and lovely place to stay when you are in Hakuba.
Hosts are very helpful and friendly.
The location is also perfect that shuttle bus to Goryo stops just in front of the hotel, and less than 10 mins walk to Base Camp where takes you to more other Ski areas.
The location is wonderful near the bus station, near the kamishiro train station, 10 minutes walking distance to hakuba goryu ski resort. Wonderful staff & excellent food.
