Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa, hotel in Kurama

Featuring a shared lounge, terrace and views of river, リヴェルト京都鴨川 2020年3月1日オープン is located in Kyoto, 1.9 km from Kyoto Imperial Palace.

This is an exceptional hotel in Kyoto, you get to experience the best Japanese hospitality. Such beautiful view of the cherry blossom trees along the river from the hotel room. Everything is well provided for in the room and local Japanese sweets are left on the coffee table for us to try everyday, it was so thoughtful. We absolutely loved our stay there. Highly recommend.

Wonderful greeting with local Mochi and a refreshing glass of champagne and green tea. We were able to check-in early at around 11:30. Thank you to the manager for her flexibility. This boutique is located by the River. Our suite had a clear view over local shrines and the river delta. Imperial Palace is 5min walking distance. Shimogamo Shrine, a 10 minute walk. Concierge booked a three day tour guide for us who took great care of us. We booked last minute and could not get good restaurant or guide reservations. Rio took care of everything. Lovely property, manager showed us other suites too, spacious and home feeling.

Kyo no Minshuku Ohara no Sato, hotel in Kurama

Ohara no Sato Onsen is a minshuku, or a Japanese-style private home, that boasts original miso-based hot pot dishes. The property has been making miso paste, or red-bean paste, for over 100 years.

Even though I had originally booked without meals, the staff set a place at dinner for everyone, including me, and I was only charged for what I participated in. Prices were reasonable and the experience was wonderful.

Guesthouse Bon, hotel in Kurama

Just a 5-minute walk from Daitokuji Temple, Guesthouse Bon offers convenience in air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with no curfew.

The host is very friendly and welcoming. As a female single traveler you want to feel safe and welcome and this place is perfect in that sens. Also I personally like the neighbourhood. This much more local and quiet residential neighbourhood might not be everyone's cup of the but I prefer it over the busy touristy part of town.
