This is a lovely hotel with Japanese style room, tatami mats and futons, very comfortable, all amenities and a good size. We had a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel with a view of the lagoon, and the location was excellent, very near the ferry landing, two minutes walk to the main restaurant street and only five minutes walk to the famous red tori gate and shrine. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I had wanted to spend a night on Miyajima ever since my first day visit eleven years ago, and this hotel was the ideal place to stay to fulfil that ambition.
Located on Miyajima (Itsukushima), Miyajima Guest House Mikuniya offers a Japanese-style accommodation and a small garden. Free Wi-Fi is available. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 20-minute walk away.

I loved the hippie vibes here! There is lots of communal areas for the guests to mingle and there is a beautiful garden with a hammock! Sadly no deer ventured in whilst we were there. Curry and soup is also provided. Be warned - many bars and restaurants close early here so this was appreciated after a late check in! The availability of an onsen that you can hire by the hour was an added bonus too.

There is nothing I could fault about this resort. We even had private shuttle taking us to train terminal
Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself.

Conveniently and calm location. The food was exceptional and a highlight of our stay. After visiting the island, the onsen offers a good chance to relax.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!

Beautiful island.
Beautiful island. Go early in the morning especialy if you want to climb the mountain. It's a pretty hard track, bu it's beautiful.
In the afthernoon it's to hot.
Lot of tourist in the afternoon and it's hard to have some dinner.
Stay there during the sunset: the shrine is beautiful!
The hotel is not situated in Miyajima's main town, but it's really close by and they make it super easy to go to and from the hotel (they have a shuttle service running all day and you can basically request a free shuttle anytime from the tourist information center in Miyajima). The hotel itself is excellently situated, with ocean views from the room. Both the dinner and breakfast were really delicious and you have access to a nice public bath.
I haven't got much new to add to what other reviewers have mentioned about the hotel. However, we were very pleased that the hotel offered us an ad-hoc shuttle service to the ferry port, even though we had missed the final scheduled shuttle; we really appreciated this and it is worth mentioning here. I wish we had more time to stay for a second night.
Big nice traditional feeling room. The room has more space than what one knows what to do with. The hotel also has a public bath.
If a big traditional room with futons is what you are looking for then this hotel delivers!
We only stayed for one night, and this is a nice hotel at Miyajima and for us it did not need anything extra.
The hotel is literally just a few meters away from the island's main attraction, the Itsukushima Shrine. The rooms not only have beds, but also feature a traditional tatami section, and they even provided Yukatas!
Additionally, the onsen was great as it stays open late, providing a great way to relax after a long day of walking.
The staff were lovely, attentive and very accommodating.
Provided meals were excellent and the food was plentiful.
Futon were comfortable and the room was quite nice.
Across the road from Miyajima Aquarium.
Itsukushima Shrine is very close so it's a great location for accessing the shrine away from peak crowds.
The staff at Miyajima Seaside Hotel are incredible, starting from the very first moment we were picked up in the shuttle bus at the ferry port. The rooms are exactly like the pictures and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast included and it did not disappoint. Overall a great experience we would recommend.
Location - right across the road from the ferries to/from Miyajimaguchi and Hiroshima Peace Park; very convenient for island sightseeing esp in the evening. Very generous dinner and breakfast buffets, excellent selection and quality. Friendly bar with happy hour. Public hot bath on the top floor was great.
attention to detail, very clean and an Onsen onsite!!
didn’t want to leave. the best thing about Miyajima is in the evening when all the tourists get the ferries back and you feel like there is only a few of you on the island wandering around. it’s magical, this hotel is perfectly placed for that walk
The owner is very nice. He gave tips about the island & places to eat, and was always helpful.
The room was Japanese style looking out over the small village, shrines and ocean.
The location of the guesthouse is in a quiet area away from the main tourist zone, but still very easy to reach.
All aspects of the ryokan including location, rooms, food and staff exceeded expectations. The view of the Torii Gate from our room was magnificent. The private outdoor bath was a great touch. Make sure to reserve it when you check in.
Nice property in Miyajima, a few minutes away from the center, in a quiet location. I particularly liked the small onsen, and having the opportunity to book either a standard hotel room with the bathroom or a Japanese style.
I loved the location. This place is right next to the giant tori gate and has an in house bath. Absolutely loved the stay and for a great price. There are deer on the island as you step out of the hotel. WONDERFUL stay.
I fully enjoyed the Ryokan experience from sleeping on a traditional Japanese set up to wearing the provided kimono to an excellent dinner and breakfast. The location was unbeatable.
The Hotel is literally next to the train and ferry station. Our room had a wonderful view of Miyajima. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice.
