The hotel was close to the rock-splitting cherry tree and Iwate Park.
Breakfast was delicious and decent in terms of Muslim-friendliness - the grilled mackerel was delicious (assuming it didn't contain mirin).
Check out was quite fast.

Very good breakfast with lots of choices, decent rooms with a bathtub (Ok for two people if one person is small). Very fair price and very close to the train station. Very comfortable sleepwear. The interior is a little dated, but still perfectly useable.

Great room and staff were great. Great location too
We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko. It is a small Japanese city with stunning views of Mt Iwate. Our main purpose was to visit friends, so we didn't do much touring, but Morioka is a lovely smaller city, very walkable, with an active city centre of restaurants and many interesting temples. It almost feels like a mini Kyoto while driving around. We enjoyed Wanko Soba, which is famous in Morioka.

I go to Morioka every month or two, while it's a city it doesn't have the crowded or bustling feel. You're also close to nature. The botanical gardens and lake are a short drive as well as Mt. Iwate for climbing. Morioka is also a go-to for Wanko Soba. I've never had a bad meal in Morioka. Overall, Morioka is a good vertical slice of Tohoku and different from the image of Tokyo that saturates people's view of Japan.

We did not spend day time at the city only night time. We were at the ski resort during the day and Morioka is well located to visit the nearby ski resort. Love the drive from Morioka to the country side. People in the restaurant were friendly although very little English was spoken. It feels very authentic for tourists as it is a very down to earth city.

The Castle park and the small river flowing next to the park was really nice. Also the temple district at the north was worth to a visit. Dendenmushi circling the town is convient to visit all city attractions. One day pass is quite economical to be used. The city can also be seen by walking for people with enough time.
I had one day in Morioka with an additional side trip to Hiraizumi. I think the time was sufficient. For people that may eant to enjoy more the downtown area and shopping an additional one day could be useful.
I wish I had more time to try the soba noodles of Morioka.

Morioka is a very nice city with several interesting sights, which can be easily reached on foot. I also loved the 3 local noodle dishes.
It is also a good place as a base for side trips, e.g. to lake Tazawa.

It’s a good transport hub for other tourist sites in the area. Not much to do in and of itself, but a good place to sleep, get some good food, and karaoke a bit before driving out to Hiraizumi or Jodogahama.
The staff were all so friendly and helped me figure out my first ryokan. The food was incredible. The room was mostly quiet, though you might hear the next door room if they're loud, but overall a very peaceful room and facilities.
Morning walks in the town are relaxing. I didn't see much in terms of shops or nightlife, but the scenery was great.
It's ~35 minutes by bus from Morioka train station. Getting to and from Tsunagi onsen is convenient but be mindful of the bus schedule as the last bus is pretty early in the evening.
Nice, cozy hotel to stay in Morioka. Hotel was located about a 10 minute bus ride and few minute walk from Morioka Station (or a 30 minute walk). There are 2 convenience stores located in front of the hotel as well as a park and restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend.
Advice for how to get to the hotel: go to the bus loop in front of Morioka station and ask which bus goes via 市役所前(shiyakusyo-mae meaning city hall), the hotel is only a few minutes down the road from the city hall.
Very easy to access once we'd figured out the route from the train station. Perfect little base for what we needed on our travels around Morioka and the surrounding area. Rooms were very clean and well kept, staff were more than happy to help and very patient with our slight language barrier, and the request for close rooms was fulfilled on check-in so we were very appreciative and enjoyed our little stayover!
Price is good. Rooms are clean and stylish, bathroom is large compared to other hotels. I really liked the overhead ceiling shower. The bathtub is nice and large. Bottle of water is provided. The hotel is right across Morioka station with restaurants nearby. Be careful there is another Daiwa Roynet Hotel about 1km away and I almost went to the wrong hotel!
Great bang for your budget. Close to Morioka station and include all the basic amenities for you to take a rest on your Tohoku trip. The staff was kind to assist me to dispatch my snowboard back home by courier service. And it includes the great breakfast which is standard for all Route Inn hotels.
The location is really excellent which is right across Morioka Station. Comfortable stay with restaurants around the area. The convenience store is connecting to the hotel which you can pick up water, drinks, snacks. The room is sizeable for our triple sharing with separate bath and toilet.
This hotel is almost directly connected to Morioka Station and it only takes like 5 min to get to the station. Nagahama Coffe is just around the corner, also a Bic Camera across the street. An entertainment building is also close to this hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful.
The staff was very polite just like any other standard Japanese hotel. The location is very good with access to small stores and restaurants in the center of the city. The room cleaning was very good. The best part was coffee, tea, and bath salt service in the lobby.
The location was good. Walking distance to many must-see sightseeing spots. Two convenience stores in front of the hotel. There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel which serves breakfast/lunch/dinner. The staff at the restaurant were really nice and friendly.
The hotel is very well situated at one end of the restaurant strip in Morioka. The west facing rooms have beautiful views of the snow covered mountains in winter.
It is a one hour’s drive, or less, to at least five of Iwate prefecture’s ski resorts.
Great place with several restaurants and services on site. Attractions are walkable from the location. Laundry on site. Very friendly & helpful staff. Very clean. Public bath on site at no cost for hotel guests. We would definitely stay here again.
The owner is the most organised man I have ever met. Such a lovely, friendly, and helpful person. He takes care of his guests and house so well. Best place in Morioka where you could stay. Really clean and his recommendations are just the best.
Excellent location next to Morioka Station. The breakfast is also excellent; many of the ingredients are sourced locally from the Tohoku region. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay.
