I was even surprised how nice was everything in this hotel. I booked semi-bouble and the was worried, but the room is so well organised that you have place for everything you need. The bathroom was also very clean and convenient. There is an underground parking, we payed 600¥ for a day, which in my opinion is a very good price. I really liked everything in this hotel.

Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday.
Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday. Chilled. It has fabulous restaurants and little local bars, great scenery. Definitely worth a visit for a few days. The bullet train ride from Tokyo to Niigata had lots of beautiful scenery along the way. So glad we decided to visit here on our third trip to Japan. Incredibly easy to get around with such an efficient bus service.

I spent 2 nights in Niigata because the hotel I wanted was booked out. I recommend spending there at least three nights. I visited Yahiko, a city nearby, which has a gorgeous park with Momiji trees, it was beautiful at the end of October. However, I had only a small amount of time for Niigata itself.

The only thing going for Niigata is the Alchemist Bar & Dining restaurant (Australian chef/owner). We were really disappointed and had been to 5 other cities in Japan which were fantastic. We would not visit Niigata again. A lot of litter and surprisingly, graffiti which is rare for Japan.

Days before checking in at Country Hotel Niigata, I was in Tokyo and Nagano and my schedule was crazy, I hardly got quality sleep. But when I was in that hotel, I got all the sleep I needed because it was so quiet, the room facilities were just right, and the hotel staff were nice and friendly.

I stay at downtown, near the train station. So it is pretty much a lot of things to do. Excellent restaurants all around the area.
The rest of the trip was taking trains to see different districts of Niigata. Lots of them has country side feels but it was good. Cute, well managed cities.

Niigata city itself is a little lackluster; there’s some interesting things to do (Pier Bandai and the nearby Toki Messe observation deck, the ponshukan at the station), though the real gems lay outside the city like Yahiko mountain and shrine
We stayed here two nights before our trip to Sado Island. We had a double room with in-room bathroom and it was small but not tiny. There is a free onsen and free noodles at night. Tattoos are not allowed in the onsen but if you have a small one it might be ok. You can also add breakfast if you’d like. Dormy Inn is a chain in Japan and this was just like other Dormy Inns we’ve stayed. Clean, basic rooms good for a couple but best for a quick stay when you just need a place to sleep while traveling.
The breakfast buffet was good with both Japanese and Western options. It was conveniently located close enough to Niigata station that we could walk there. It's also super close to several main restaurant and bar streets, so we were able to enjoy some fun nightlife too. We ended up renting a car to get to more remote locations around Niigata and the staff helped us pay for parking, and find parking when their lot was full for the night.

The room was big and comfortable, and a gorgeous view of the Sea of Japan. The buffet breakfast was superb! The front desk was extremely helpful especially when we wanted to ship our luggage to the next destination and ordered a taxi for us to ensure that we get to the train station on time.
We were surprised to find that they had an onsen there at the hotel as well as a pool. The tv showed all the information you might want and more, such as how busy the onsen was at any given time, wifi/password, and you could even use it to order pizza or other services if you wanted.
it's like 3 mins walk from Niigata Station, so it's very convenient. The room and bathroom is spacious enough, though it's not big. complimentary breakfast is nice though the choice is not vary. complimentary coffee is provided.
Staffs are friendly and helpful
The mattress was very very hard and I did not sleep well at all. Also the pillow was very hard. I came back with neck and back pain. But the staff were very nice and kind.
I hope your hotel in Tokyo is much better in terms of comfort please. We booked one there
Very nice buffet breakfast available. Convenient location - about five minutes walk from Niigata station. Lovely view from my room (eleventh floor). Neat and elegant interior. Nice laundry facilities and rest area in lobby (including complementary hot coffee).
The staff was friendly and check in was smooth. That's typical for APA Hotels, and I didn't expect anything else. The rooms themselves were normal size as well. Small by international standards, but normal for a Japanese business hotel.
The staff at this hotel have been in the best in Japan. So friendly and welcoming. The hotel had an old world charm and was clean, quiet and comfortable. The included breakfast option was excellent. Great sushi restaurant as well.
This hotel was wonderful! It was so modern and clean, and literally steps away from the train station. The room was so comfortable and nice, and the onsen baths were great. Wish I had stayed for longer instead of just a stopover.
